Children's nosebleed in autumn

Children's nosebleed in autumn

The physical health of children is very important because they are young and more susceptible to illness. Especially some children are born with weak constitution due to their own reasons. Therefore, special attention should be paid to maintenance. Autumn is a cool season, but children are also prone to illness problems. Nosebleed is an abnormal condition and the cause must be identified. So what should we do if children have nosebleeds in autumn?

What should I do if my child often has nosebleeds in autumn?

Generally speaking, nasal bleeding due to ruptured blood vessels does not require special treatment. The nose belongs to the orifice of the lungs. Generally speaking, any nasal disease is closely related to abnormalities in the lungs, liver and other parts of the body. When a person's Qi and blood rise, especially when the lung Qi is hot, the person will have a nosebleed. Therefore, in your daily diet, you should pay attention to clearing heat and reducing fire, eat less spicy food, and try to avoid situations that cause lung heat.

As for why the nose is more prone to bleeding in cold and dry seasons, it is mainly because in cold weather, we like to eat some hot food. When eating, the heat will accelerate the blood circulation in the nasal cavity. If the nasal mucosa is naturally thin or has been injured, it is easy to have nosebleeds. In addition, in a cold and dry environment, we need more blood to flow through the nasal cavity to increase the temperature and humidity. The tiny blood vessels in the nasal mucosa are therefore prone to congestion, leading to nosebleeds.

Children are active and lively, and often injure their noses accidentally. In addition, they may also develop bad habits such as picking their noses with their fingers, which may damage the nasal mucosa. In life, parents should pay attention to education.

When you have a nosebleed, the correct method is: keep your head upright or slightly tilted forward, and use your fingers from the outside of the nose to press the front part of the nose (the soft part of the nose) on the bleeding side, similar to pinching the nose with your hand, and apply direct pressure for about 5 to 10 minutes. Most patients can simply stop bleeding in this way.

How to prevent nosebleeds in babies

1. In the dry season, for children with a history of nosebleeds, families should have chloramphenicol eye ointment available, which can be applied evenly in the nasal cavity every day to moisturize the nasal mucosa.

2. Correct the child's picky eating habits, encourage him to drink more water, eat more vegetables, and arrange his diet reasonably and scientifically.

3. If children have difficulty breathing through their nose at night, you can use furosemide to moisten the nose, but never pick the nasal cavity.

4. Once nose bleeding occurs, you can use clean cotton wool to fill the nasal cavity to stop the bleeding. If there is no cotton wool, you can also use your fingers to press the sides of the nose for 5 minutes.

5. Let children with nosebleeds lower their heads (note, not raise their heads) and raise their upper limbs to increase the amount of blood returning to the superior vena cava, thereby reducing blood supply to the nasal cavity to achieve the purpose of stopping bleeding.

6. Apply a cold towel to the nose to constrict the nasal blood vessels.

7. Moisturize the nasal cavity: When the child's nasal cavity is dry, you can use paraffin oil or glycerin to drip the nose, or wipe the nasal cavity with a cotton ball dipped in clean water.

8. Control strenuous activities and avoid nasal trauma: In addition to local inflammation of the nasal cavity, strenuous activities can also cause the blood vessels in the nasal mucosa to dilate or cause nasal itching. Children picking their noses can easily cause nosebleeds. In addition to avoiding strenuous exercise, children should also develop good living habits and not pick their noses at will.
