How it works

PVP-I is a complex of non-ionic surfactant polyvinylpyrrolidone and iodine. When it comes into contact with skin or mucous membrane, it releases active iodine (available iodine I), which can directly act on bacterial protein, interfere with the synthesis of amino acids, reduce lipid membrane fluidity, and thus kill microorganisms. It has strong killing ability and disinfection effect on various bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Candida albicans, pyogenic cocci and pathogenic yeast, etc.), fungi (dermatophytes, Aspergillus yeast), viruses, protozoa Chlamydia, and mycoplasma.
