What does a one month old baby's stool look like?

Right after the baby is born, because the baby cannot speak of the pain in the body and cannot express it, it is inevitable that he will cry and make a fuss. This makes the parents at a loss and very anxious, not knowing what is going on. So next we are going to introduce the bowel movements of one-month-old babies. How to judge what is going on with the child!

Breastfeeding bowel movements

In color and shape, it is yellow or golden ointment, uniform and consistent, occasionally slightly green and relatively thin; it has a sour taste but not smelly and no foam, and sometimes contains milk lumps. Defecation 2 to 5 times a day. If your stool is slightly loose and slightly green, it is still normal.

Some babies have frequent bowel movements, 4 to 5 times, or even 7 to 8 times a day, but they are in good spirits, can eat, and continue to gain weight, which is also normal. As the child grows older, the frequency of bowel movements will gradually decrease, and after 2-3 months the frequency of bowel movements will be reduced to 1-2 times a day. Therefore, if a breastfed baby has loose stools or has more frequent stools, parents do not need to worry as long as the baby is energetic, feeding well, and growing in height and weight normally.

2. Stool under artificial feeding

The feces of infants fed with cow's or goat's milk or milk powder are light yellow or earthy gray, relatively dry, rough, uniformly hard paste-like, often mixed with grayish white milk curds and protein clots, and often have an unpleasant fecal odor. The stool is drier and thicker than that of breastfed babies, with a slightly foul odor, and occurs 1 to 2 times a day.

3. Stool under mixed feeding method

When breast milk is insufficient and milk and starchy foods are added, the stool will be yellow or light brown, soft, and have a foul odor, and will occur 1 to 3 times a day.

In the article, we learned that when a one-month-old baby poops, the first thing that will happen is curds. This is probably because the child has diarrhea. It is inevitable that the child will be distressed by stomach pain. The child should be treated in time.
