What does Pediatric Endocrinology examine?

Weight changes: weight loss or gain, such as emaciation, obesity;

Physical developmental disorders: growth disorders, such as excessive shortness or gigantism;

Mental symptoms: mental excitement, irritability, depression, few words;

Changes in the skeletal system: unexplained bone pain, back and leg pain, osteoporosis, and easy fractures;

Gastrointestinal symptoms: loss of appetite, hyperphagia, abdominal distension, and increased frequency of bowel movements;

Changes in urine volume: thirst, polydipsia, polyuria, and increased nocturia;

Edema: especially with dry skin, thick lips and large tongue;

Symptomatic hypertension: especially with sanguineous appearance, acne, periodic lower limb weakness or paroxysmal hypertension;

Reproductive and sexual function changes: female menstrual disorders, breast hyperplasia, precocious puberty, infertility, male impotence;

Other common symptoms: fear of heat, chills, palpitations, chest tightness, headache, decreased vision, weakness, etc.
