Folliculitis in children

Folliculitis in children

Folliculitis is a skin disease caused by clogged hair follicles. It initially manifests as a full red rash on the follicle pores, followed by cysts. The presence of folliculitis hinders the body's sweating and detoxification, and can also make patients feel itchy and painful. If folliculitis is not treated for a long time, it will become more serious and easily cause symptoms such as fever, weakness, and headache. How to treat folliculitis in children?

It initially appears as a red, solid papule or follicular pustule that is consistent with the opening of the hair follicle, and then develops into a papule-pustle with the hair running through the middle and surrounded by redness and inflammation. It finally dries and forms a scab, which falls off and heals in about a week. It can also develop into deep infection, forming furuncles, carbuncles, etc., which generally do not leave scars.

1. At the onset, the disease appears as a hard lump with local redness, swelling, pain and tenderness. After a few days, the source of the disease expanded, and a yellow-white pus plug appeared in the center, which then softened and ruptured, and pus was discharged. The inflammation was alleviated and gradually healed.

2. When the furuncle is large, there may be systemic symptoms such as fever, headache, fatigue, and increased white blood cell count.

3. If facial furuncle is combined with intracranial infection, the face will be severely swollen and may be accompanied by chills, high fever, headache and other cavernous sinus infection embolism.

1. Pay attention to skin hygiene, strengthen physical exercise, and enhance skin resistance.

2. Skin diseases, especially itchy skin diseases, should be treated promptly and reasonably. Prevent and treat skin damage and avoid irritation such as scratching and skin friction.

3. It is prohibited to share clothes, hats, towels, washbasins, etc. to prevent contact transmission, and patients should be properly isolated. Dressings and contact materials used by the patient must be strictly disinfected or incinerated.

1. Eat more foods containing vitamin A and vitamin B2, such as day lily, leek, carrot, spinach, etc. 2. Avoid spicy and irritating foods. 3. Avoid smoking and drinking.

Folliculitis is a skin disease caused by blockage of hair follicles and sebaceous glands, which causes changes in hair follicles. Normally, dead keratin will be gradually discharged, and the old and new ones will stick together. Blocked hair follicles can easily breed bacteria, leading to inflammation. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that folliculitis is caused by internal accumulation of dampness and heat, external heat toxins, which are trapped in the skin; or it may be caused by physical weakness, loose pores, and external heat evil.

Use some medicines that clear away heat and detoxify, promote blood circulation and cool blood, dispel wind and relieve itching to regulate the body. Combined with external anti-inflammatory drugs.

Note: 1. In daily life, be careful to eat less spicy and irritating foods. 2. Drink more water, eat more fruits and vegetables, and maintain a daily bowel movement habit. 3. Avoid various external stimuli (scratching, hot water washing, soap scrubbing) and allergens.
