How to treat lumbar herniation in children

When a child's body is in the development period, parents should pay attention to cultivating good living habits for their children. However, some children do not have good habits. For example, children nowadays often play with electronic products, which leads to decreased eyesight and cervical spine problems. Some children may develop lumbar problems because they do not have a good sitting posture since childhood, or they do not develop good habits when studying. How to treat lumbar herniation in children?

The specific treatment of children's lumbar herniation is as follows:

1. Kyphosis: During the development of children, kyphosis of the lumbar spine has not yet formed. This is a normal phenomenon. There are no obvious symptoms and no special treatment is required. It can be solved by changing posture.

2. Intervertebral disc herniation: neuralgia may occur, and early diagnosis and treatment are required;

3. Simple lumbar kyphosis: manifested as low back pain and back pain, mostly occurs in school age. Due to improper posture, the waist and back muscles are in a state of traction for a long time, causing chronic muscle fatigue and strain, and causing local inflammatory reactions. Correcting sitting posture, strengthening exercise, and local physical therapy, such as warm compresses and cold compresses in the acute phase, can provide appropriate relief. "

Common symptoms of lumbar disc herniation:

1. Back pain, leg pain. Most patients experience persistent dull pain, back pain, which is sometimes more intense. Most pains in the lower lumbar spine (the following: between the two parts of L4 and L5 and between L5 and 1) are mainly related to the sciatic nerve, and the pain often goes from the waist along the direction of the sciatic nerve gradually extending. From the outside of the waist, hips, thighs, calves (or hind feet), instep (or foot) - (palm, back of toes, toes). Sciatica manifests itself in two aspects: one is the radiating tingling or numbness from the waist to the soles of the feet, which is tolerable; the other is shock-like low back pain in the feet, accompanied by numbness. When the patient bends his waist or walks to relieve the pain, he likes to take the flexed hip and flexed side-lying positions. The pain is aggravated by coughing, sneezing, and difficulty defecating.

2. The movement of the spine is limited: when the waist is normal, the range of motion is 900 in flexion, 300 in extension, 200-300 in left and right movement, and 300 in left and right rotation. When the lumbar disc herniates and the spine flexes, the front half of the disc is compressed, the lateral space widens, the nucleus pulposus moves backward, the protrusion increases tension, and the nucleus pulposus moves upward, pulling the nerve roots and causing pain. As the waist extends, the protrusion also increases, and the yellow ligament protrudes forward, causing compression of the nerve roots before and after the pain, so the pain limits the movement of the spine.

Health care methods:

1. Its abdominal exercise therapy: dozens of times a day, on the one hand, can strengthen the waist and back muscles, on the other hand, the intervertebral disc and annulus fibrosus, rotate, pull the intervertebral ligaments, increase the surrounding pressure, easily cause the protrusions to retract, and restore the anatomical function of the vertebral joints to adapt to the state. It needs to be reminded that everyone has different individual differences and chooses one or two methods to train themselves. During this process, pay attention to safety and the elderly should be accompanied by their family members.

2. The flying swallow exercise must be performed during the acute pain period. The flying swallow pose can strengthen the lumbar muscles, especially the muscle strength, and prevent lumbar injuries. If there is pain when the waist is moving, you should stop exercising, rest immediately, and visit the hospital when necessary. Hold each bite for ten to twenty seconds for five seconds, repeat ten times, and there is no need to deliberately maintain it for too long.

3. Waist: Stand with your legs apart, extend them about shoulder-width apart, toes pointed inward, bend in a fake fall motion to let your hands touch the ground, then reset the rebound force and play to the end. Repeat five times ten times. After the condition improves, increase the range of motion, paying attention to one step at a time.

Keep warm and pay special attention to keeping your waist warm. Especially in autumn and winter, you should wear warm clothes early, and choose high-waisted warm pants to avoid the waist from being stimulated by wind, cold, dampness and cold. You should often do warm physical therapy such as hot compresses and hot baths on the waist. Don’t stay under the air conditioner for a long time, as it is not good for your waist. You should strengthen the protection of your waist and back.
