What to do if the baby falls on the back of the head

Many parents are not careful when taking care of their children, which easily causes their children to fall. Naturally, this will have some impact on their physical health. Therefore, parents must pay attention to understanding these issues when taking care of their children. What I want to introduce to you below is how to correctly deal with and solve the problem if a baby falls and hits the back of the head. I hope parents will pay attention to this.

If a child can cry loudly immediately and complain about the pain without any loss of consciousness after a head injury, it means that there is no damage to the brain. You can let the child lie on his back in the bed with his head raised, and let him lie quietly and rest for a while. After a child falls, it is natural for him to cry. It is also normal for him to want to sleep when he is tired of crying. After the child falls asleep, parents should wake him up once in a while to see if his reaction is the same as usual. The skin of the head is densely covered with blood vessels. Even a small wound may sometimes cause heavy bleeding, causing the child to suffer hemorrhagic shock. In this situation, parents should quickly and calmly apply pressure to the wound with a clean towel or gauze to stop the bleeding, and then rush the child to the hospital for treatment.

If a child has any of the following symptoms after a head injury, it means that the brain is damaged and the child must be sent to the hospital for treatment immediately: (1) unconsciousness; (2) pale face and cold sweat; (3) eyes drooping or crooked mouth; (4) convulsions; (5) frequent vomiting; (6) bleeding or watery discharge from the ears or nose; (7) tossing and turning, restless, or unilateral or bilateral paralysis of the hands and feet.

After a child is hit on the head, he or she may not lose consciousness at the time and have no obvious injuries on the body. However, if one of the following symptoms appears within the next few days, it means that the brain has been damaged and the child should be sent to the hospital for examination and treatment immediately: (1) Bad mood, constant crying or listlessness; (2) Children over 3-4 years old constantly complain of headaches; (3) Always in a sleeping state, even if you call him or her, he or she will never open his or her eyes properly, and may even have convulsions; (4) Pale complexion and frequent vomiting.

Although sometimes parents cannot predict when their babies will fall, this also shows that parents have some responsibilities. Children are delicate and fragile, and if they fall, the harm will be greater. Therefore, I hope every parent can fully understand these issues and try to avoid letting their children fall.
