What to do if your baby has inverted nipples

When you have a baby, you will want to always pay attention to his every move, but many times due to our lack of relevant knowledge, we don’t know why our baby has some strange phenomena, such as inverted nipples. What should we do when we encounter this situation?

Inverted nipples are not uncommon; the most important thing is to figure out whether it is congenital or acquired. If the inverted nipple is congenital, that is, it has been like this since childhood, then it is not a physical problem and there is no need to worry too much. However, if your nipples have been protruding since childhood and suddenly become sunken, you should not take it lightly because it may mean that there is a problem with your body, such as lumps in the breast, nipple inflammation or changes in the breast, which will cause changes in the nipples. Therefore, you should get checked as soon as possible to find out the cause so that appropriate treatment can be given. If the nipple of an adult woman is sunken under the surface of the areola and does not protrude above the areola plane, causing the local area to appear like a mouth of varying sizes, it is called inverted nipple. The degree of nipple inversion varies. In some cases, the nipple simply retracts, while in severe cases, the nipple becomes sunken or even flipped. Inverted nipples not only affect the beauty of the breasts, but also hinder breastfeeding function. The local area is difficult to clean, and the sunken area is easy to harbor dirt and filth, often causing local infection. The mammary ducts are connected to the sunken area, and the inflammation can spread into the mammary gland and cause mastitis, so it should be corrected.

Inverted nipples are mainly congenital, but can also be caused by trauma or surgery, breast tumors, and fibrosis after mastitis. The specific cause should be checked in the hospital, otherwise relying on your own judgment is far from enough.

After reading the above content, I believe everyone has a further understanding of this knowledge. Of course, we still have to remember that when our baby has certain problems and we can’t solve them ourselves, we should send him to the hospital immediately. Otherwise, if the baby’s health has problems, it is something no one wants to see.
