The role of yin and yang in pediatric massage

The role of yin and yang in pediatric massage

In modern medicine, more and more attention is paid to pediatric massage. After all, all medicine is toxic and is not good for the healthy growth of infants and young children. However, massage can help avoid this problem. For example, massaging the Fen Yin and Yang acupoints 30-50 times a day can regulate qi and blood, aid digestion, etc. However, it should be noted that it only takes 10-20 minutes a day, and the strength should be maintained, not too heavy.

The first technique of pediatric massage of Yin Yang Pool: Separating Yin and Yang

Massage position: Palm facing up, wrist crease on the back of the palm (the first wrist crease). The point close to the thumb tip is the Yang Chi, and the point close to the little finger tip is the Yin Chi.

Massage method: Use the thumbs of both hands to push from the center of the transverse line on the back of the palm to both sides, which is called pushing the large transverse line, also known as dividing yin and yang.

Number of massages: 30-50 times/day. Effects of massage: Rubbing the hands to separate yin and yang can balance yin and yang, harmonize qi and blood, and relieve stagnation and aid digestion.

The second method of pediatric massage of Yin Yang Chi: combining the Yin and Yang

Massage position: Palm facing up, wrist crease on the back of the palm (the first wrist crease). The point close to the thumb tip is the Yang Chi, and the point close to the little finger tip is the Yin Chi.

Massage method: Use the thumbs of both hands to push from the sides toward the center of the transverse line of the wrist behind the palm, which is called the Yin and Yang of the hands.

Number of massages: 30-50 times/day. Massage effect: Rubbing the yin and yang of the hands can dissipate phlegm and resolve stagnation.

2. Precautions for massage

1. Generally speaking, the total time for a pediatric massage is 10-20 minutes. However, due to different conditions and ages of children, there are certain differences in the number and duration of massage. The patient is old and has a serious condition, so the number of massages is high and the duration is relatively long. On the contrary, the number of times is small and the time is short. Generally, take once a day; in severe cases, take twice a day. For chronic diseases that require long-term treatment, one course of treatment is 7 to 10 days. After one course of treatment, you can rest for a few days before starting the next course of treatment. For pediatric massage, regular massage can be performed once a day or every other day for different systems. During massage, fewer acupoints can be selected than during treatment, the degree of stimulation should be slightly lower, and the time can be kept at about 15 minutes.

2. When performing pediatric massage techniques, pay attention to the child's body position. In principle, it should make the child comfortable and eliminate his or her fear, while also making it easy to operate.

3. Contraindications of pediatric massage include: fractures, traumatic bleeding; skin damage, skin ulcers; burns and scalds; acute and severe infectious diseases; cancer and critical illnesses, etc.

4. It is best to focus on only one problem each time you give your child pediatric massage. If there are too many health care and treatment purposes and the acupoints to be massaged are too complex, it will affect the final effect.

Before pediatric massage treatment, there must be a clear diagnosis. If parents or pediatric masseurs are not sure, please send the child to the hospital first! Children's diseases change rapidly and cannot be treated without delay, so please do not be careless.
