How to treat mumps in children

Children's illness is the most troublesome problem for parents. They don't know how to express their problems and can only cry and make a fuss, which leaves parents helpless. When children get mumps, their faces will be extremely painful. They will be even less willing to eat and drink water, and they will get irritated, and their condition will become serious. Here are some methods for parents to treat mumps in children.

Cupping:

(I) Acupoint selection: Main acupoints: Shenzhu and Ashi points.

(2) Treatment method: There are two types of cupping methods, you can choose any one of them.

One is the method of pricking and cupping. First, let the child sit upright, and insert a 1-1.5-inch No. 30 filiform needle into the Ashi point, about 0.8-1 inch deep. After getting the qi, use the twisting drainage method. Remove the needle after half a minute of acupuncture, and press lightly with a sterilized cotton ball to prevent bleeding. Then ask the child to lie prone. After routine disinfection of the Shenzhu acupoint, prick it with a small three-edged needle. Blood will come out immediately after one prick. Then squeeze the needle hole with both thumbs to cause a drop of blood to bleed. According to age, choose cupping tools of appropriate caliber, and use the fire method (that is, use the penicillin bottle cap, turn it upside down on the acupoint, put a semi-dry cotton ball soaked in 95% alcohol on it, and light it), or use a vacuum cupping device to suck on the body column acupoint. Leave the cup on for 7 to 10 minutes (until the local skin becomes rosy). Treatment is given every other day, regardless of the course of treatment.

Another method is the water jug method: ask the child to sit upright. Fill a small suction cup with about half a bottle of warm water, place the cup with the mouth facing upwards, and place it upside down on the Ashi point. Tighten the cup and ask the child to slowly lie on his back so that the cup returns to the downward position. Then insert a syringe equipped with a No. 4 or 5 needle into the cup, remove the air, and allow the cup to absorb the acupuncture area so that the warm water can fully contact the skin. If the local swelling area of the child is large, 2 to 3 can be suctioned at the same time. Leave the pot on for about 15 minutes. When removing the can, push air into the can with a syringe and remove it with the can mouth facing upwards. Suction 1 to 2 times a day, regardless of the course of treatment.

I think children don’t like taking medicine, so I think acupuncture and cupping in traditional Chinese medicine are better for children. In fact, as long as parents pay attention to letting their children drink water and eat more fruits and vegetables, as long as they don't get irritated, they are unlikely to get mumps. In this way, some small care in daily life can be exchanged for a healthy child, which is quite worth it.
