What are the standards for children's mental health?

With the rapid development of society and the gradual deepening of people's thinking, children's health is no longer just physical health but also includes thoughts, morals, psychological activities, etc. We all know that physical health is easy to check, but people's psychological activities cannot be understood all at once, and from an evaluation perspective, there is no constant standard like a physical examination. However, in order to promote the healthy development of children in our country, the country has formulated a general standard. I believe that many people must be curious now, what are the standards for children's mental health?

1. Normal intellectual development

Intelligence is a comprehensive reflection of an individual's various psychological abilities, such as observation, comprehension, imagination, thinking, and reasoning. Intelligence improves with age. Normal intelligence refers to an individual's level of intellectual development being commensurate with his or her actual age, and is one of the important signs of mental health. An IQ of 80 or above is considered normal, while an IQ below 70 is considered mentally retarded. Intellectual development lagging behind actual age is considered psychological developmental abnormality, often accompanied by poor adaptability, and is one of the main reasons for children's learning difficulties. A small number of children have extraordinary intelligence or special talents, with an IQ of over 120 points. If these children have unbalanced psychological development, they may also have adaptability defects.

2. Stable Emotions

Mentally healthy adolescents have an advantage in experiencing positive emotions such as optimism and satisfaction. Although they may experience negative emotions such as sadness, confusion, failure, and frustration, they will not last long. They are able to express and control their emotions appropriately and keep them relatively stable.

3. Know yourself correctly

Mentally healthy adolescents have self-esteem, self-love, and self-respect. They can not only objectively evaluate others, but more importantly, they can correctly understand themselves, evaluate themselves, and control themselves. Have a full understanding of yourself, be clear about the value of your existence, be satisfied with yourself, and work hard to make yourself more perfect. You can develop your strengths, fully recognize your weaknesses, and make conscious efforts to overcome them. I have my own ideals, am full of confidence in the future, and constantly make new achievements in study, work and other aspects.

4. Have good interpersonal relationships

Mentally healthy children and adolescents have positive and good interpersonal relationships. Respect others, understand others, be good at learning from others' strengths to make up for one's own weaknesses, and be able to get along with others in a friendly and tolerant manner. They can be sincere and frank in front of others, which makes it easy for them to gain others' trust and establish harmonious interpersonal relationships. He has high prestige in the group, a fulfilling life, and is a confidant of his classmates.

5. Stable and coordinated personality

Personality, also known as individuality, is each person's unique psychological characteristics or unique behavioral patterns. It is gradually formed on the basis of innate qualities and under the long-term influence of the environment. Mentally healthy people have a relatively stable and consistent personality system. The psychological structure of the personality system (also known as the personality structure) consists of three parts: personality tendencies (including motivation, interests, ideals, etc.), personality psychological characteristics (including temperament, ability and character) and "self", among which temperament, character and "self" are important parts of personality. Personality is reflected in a person's entire mental outlook. A mentally healthy person has a sound "self", has a correct understanding of himself, can evaluate himself objectively, and can effectively control and adjust his personality tendencies and personality psychological characteristics. The basic characteristics of a sound personality are: relatively stable emotional state, strong perseverance, flexible adaptability, a strong sense of responsibility and good self-control.

6. Love life

Mentally healthy people love life, can deeply feel the beauty and joy of life, and actively look forward to a better future. Be able to fully develop your potential in all aspects of life and not lose confidence in life due to setbacks and failures. Be able to deal with real difficulties correctly and adjust one's thinking methods and behavioral strategies in time to adapt to various social environments.

7. Psychological activities are adapted to the age characteristics of psychological development

Certain ages should have corresponding psychological characteristics. For example, children and adolescents should be energetic, while the elderly should be steady and sophisticated. The psychological activities of mentally healthy people should be consistent with the age characteristics of their psychological development.

Healthy psychological activities are conducive to the healthy development of children, especially teenagers. Their future is also our future. So as a parent, we must always treat our children with these requirements, but we must create a relaxed atmosphere, not let them feel nervous or stressed, and let them develop invisibly.
