Baby's ear is red and swollen

The redness and swelling of the outer contour of one of your baby's ears may be caused by mosquito bites or bumps, and allergic factors cannot be ruled out. If it is a minor bump, you usually don't need to worry too much, it will gradually ease, but if the redness and swelling does not subside for a long time, you can take medication as prescribed by your doctor.

1. Insect bites: Insect bites usually refer to mosquitoes, bedbugs and other insects piercing the skin with their piercing-sucking mouthparts to suck blood. During the piercing process, toxic substances may seep into the blood, causing the outer contour of one of the baby's ears to become red and swollen, and it may also be accompanied by itching. Generally, you can apply cooling and antipruritic ointments for treatment, such as mometasone furoate ointment, dexamethasone ointment, etc., but usually avoid scratching with your hands to avoid skin damage and infection;

2. Bumps: If the baby accidentally falls while playing and the outer contour of one ear is bumped, redness and swelling may occur, and there may also be pain. If the symptoms are not serious, the redness and swelling symptoms will generally subside over time;

3. Allergic factors: If one of the baby's ears comes into contact with plant pollen, animal fur and other substances, it may cause an allergic reaction, causing redness and swelling of the outer contour of the ear. Usually, anti-allergic drugs can be taken to relieve the symptoms, such as cetirizine tablets, loratadine tablets, etc.
