Baby has rash on belly

If the baby has a red rash on his belly, parents need to pay attention to it. It may be rubella, measles, roseola infantum and other diseases. If the baby has this symptom, parents can observe the baby first and pay more attention to the child's body temperature. If the red rash becomes more and more, and the baby is accompanied by other discomfort symptoms, you must go to the hospital immediately and take medicine under the doctor's guidance. Never take medicine indiscriminately, especially when the cause of the disease is unclear.

What causes a rash on the baby's belly?

First, measles. You must have heard of it. It is a highly contagious disease caused by the measles virus. Although many children are now vaccinated against measles at birth, it is still one of the leading causes of death among children worldwide. Measles also causes red maculopapular rashes, but the order is head and face → neck → trunk → limbs. Usually, there is fever before measles, and the rash appears after a fever period of 3-4 days. The rash period is also the peak period of fever.

Second, rubella, which is caused by rubella virus. The order of rash is face and neck → trunk → limbs, and it usually appears 1-2 days after the onset of symptoms.

Third, roseola infantum, its pathogen is human herpes virus type 6, which is mostly located on the head, face, neck and trunk, and rarely on the limbs. It appears all on one day and begins to subside the next day. Generally, there is a high fever for 3-5 days, and the rash appears after the fever subsides.

Fourth, scarlet fever is caused by beta-hemolytic streptococci. The skin all over the body can be affected. The rash will be accompanied by peeling after the rash subsides. The rash will appear 1-2 days after the fever, and the fever will be high when the rash appears.

Fifth, drug rash. If your child took medicine before the rash appeared, the drug rash cannot be eliminated. This rash is generally itchy and is more common in areas of friction and pressure.

What to do if your baby has a rash

You should first go to a professional hospital for a diagnosis and do not take medication blindly. The second thing is to avoid letting your baby scratch as much as possible. Scratching may increase the local temperature of the skin and cause the blood to release more histamine (allergens). The more you scratch, the more itchy it will become, and it may cause skin breakage and scars.

Whether from the perspective of prevention or treatment, identifying the causative factors is the key. Mothers need to try to keep the room ventilated, clean and dry, try to avoid placing plants that may cause allergies indoors, and do not spray pesticides, mosquito repellents, air fresheners, etc. Mothers also need to pay attention to the baby's diet and daily activity environment, and try to find out the pathogenic factors.

What are the ways to care for babies after they have rashes?

In terms of diet, pay attention to eating less irritating foods, such as eggs, seafood, fish, shrimp, beef, mutton, etc.

Babies with eczema must not be covered up, and the indoor temperature should be appropriate.

Try to avoid strong sunlight or exposure to cold wind.

Wearing pure cotton clothes, contact with silk or artificial fibers, plush toys, topical medications, and bacterial skin infections can all cause eczema or aggravate its condition. Choose safe detergents for infants and young children, and rinse as much as possible when washing clothes to reduce detergent residue. Try to reduce your child's contact with chemicals such as perfume, cosmetics, mothballs, nail polish, etc.
