What is the cause of the child's facial twitching?

Our society is developing very fast now, which makes everyone's life pressure increase slowly. Many people are often busy with work and cannot take good care of their children. Some children have facial twitching. This situation does not occur often, such as when children are watching TV or doing homework, which makes parents very worried. So what is the matter with children's facial twitching?

First, what's going on with the child's face twitching? If the child suffers from facial nerve tremors, it may be caused by hemifacial spasm. At this time, you should consider going to a nearby professional doctor for consultation in time, because the child's health is the health of the parents. During this period, we must understand the causes of hemifacial spasm in time.

Second, it is normal for children to love watching TV, but now is the cold season, and many children are so focused on watching TV that they ignore the coldness of their bodies. Parents do not discover it in time, and children’s body resistance is relatively weak, so they catch excessive cold and induce facial spasm. The causes of hemifacial spasm in children also include: pathological interference of facial nerve conduction due to some kind of compression. Most patients with hemifacial spasm suffer from cross compression of normal blood vessels, such as compression of the anterior inferior cerebellar artery, vertebral nerve artery, posterior inferior cerebellar artery, arteriovenous malformations, etc.

Third, tics usually start from the face, gradually develop to the head, neck, and shoulder muscles, and then spread to the trunk and upper and lower limbs. The manifestations of tics are diverse, and can be manifested as various motor tics, such as blinking, twitching the nose, pouting, making faces, nodding, shrugging, etc., or as vocal tics, such as sniffing the nose, clearing the throat, coughing, screaming, barking, obscene language, etc. The frequency and intensity of tics may fluctuate during the course of the disease. New tic symptoms may replace old tic symptoms, or new tic symptoms may appear on the basis of the original tic symptoms.

What causes facial twitching in children? In a very small number of children with hemifacial spasm, the hemifacial spasm occurs on the affected side after surgery or traumatic tumor. There may be a short circuit between the facial nerve and other cranial nerves during the recovery process. When other cranial nerves are excited, the facial muscles on one side may twitch, which is also the cause of hemifacial spasm. The above is a brief introduction to what causes facial neurological tremors in children. Therefore, parents should pay attention to their children’s physical care to avoid causing serious effects on their children’s health.
