How much milk should a seven month old baby take?

Seven-month-old babies have started to add complementary foods. Many mothers are busy with work, so they use milk powder instead of breast milk. A seven-month-old baby has a large appetite. Many mothers and fathers do not pay attention to the baby’s diet and often let the baby eat too much or not enough. Let us find out how much milk a seven-month-old baby needs?

1. Regardless of whether the baby is drinking breast milk or milk, the baby's staple food is still mainly milk. Milk substitute food can only be used as a trial feeding product for the baby to practice eating.

2. Add semi-solid food, such as rice porridge or noodles, only once a day. The nutritional value of porridge is much lower than that of milk and human milk. 100 grams of 15% rice porridge can only produce about 218 kilojoules of calories, while 100 grams of human milk can produce about 285 kilojoules of calories, and 100 grams of sweetened milk can produce 301 kilojoules of calories. In addition, rice porridge lacks the animal protein necessary for the baby's growth. Therefore, porridge or noodles can only be added once a day, and it should be made into egg porridge, fish porridge, minced meat porridge, liver porridge, etc. for the baby to eat.

3. Observe the weight and weigh your baby every 10 days. If the weight gain is not ideal, the amount of milk should not be reduced. If weight gain is normal, you can stop feeding breast milk or milk for once.

4. The diet for babies of this age can be arranged according to the following standards:

6:30 am: 180 ml breast milk or milk

9am: 1 steamed egg

12 noon: Half a bowl of porridge or noodles, with vegetables, meat or fish accounting for 1/3 of the porridge

4pm: 180ml breast milk or milk

7pm: A small amount of side dishes, 150ml of milk

11pm: 180ml breast milk or milk

After 6 months, babies can eat normal fruits. You can crush bananas, walnuts, strawberries and other fruits for your baby to eat. You can also give your baby grapes, oranges and other fruits, but they must be washed and peeled before eating.

The above is the amount of milk for a seven-month-old baby. In addition to drinking milk, you can also add some small fruits that are easy to digest to your baby, etc., because the baby's physical development at this stage requires vitamins and various nutrients, so the nutrition must be sufficient. This can promote the baby's health and enhance the baby's immunity.
