What does juvenile melanoma look like?

As we all know, melanoma is a common cancer. If cancer becomes serious, it can spread throughout the body, so it needs to be detected and treated as early as possible. Melanoma, as the name suggests, is a tumor that contains a lot of melanin. A tumor is actually a type of cancer. When the tumor grows to a certain size, it becomes cancer. So is melanoma in childhood a tumor or directly cancer? Let's find out together.

Histopathology: Most of them are compound nevi, but they can also be intradermal nevi and junctional nevi. There are two types of nevus cells, spindle cells and epithelioid nevus cells, and one type of nevus cell is often predominant. The spindle-shaped nevus cells are long and spindle-shaped, with fibrillar cytoplasm, oval or round nuclei, large nucleoli, and clear boundaries. Occasionally, there are binuclei or multiple nuclei, and sometimes the nuclei are large and darkly stained. There are varying numbers of normal nuclear division images, which are arranged in bundles, loosely, or in a whorl shape, often perpendicular to the epidermis.

Epithelioid nevus cells are large and polygonal, with abundant cytoplasm, uniform or fine granular texture, large and darkly stained nuclei, and rare nuclear mitosis. Most of the nevus cells are arranged in nests, the size and shape of the nests are relatively consistent, and artificial cracks can often be seen on tissue sections, showing the maturity of melanocytic nevus. Larger red bodies similar to colloid bodies appear in the basal cell layer of the epidermis above the dermal papilla, called Kamino bodies, which may be positive for PAS reaction. There is epidermal hyperplasia, edema in the upper dermis, dilation of capillaries, and obvious infiltration of inflammatory cells, mainly lymphocytes and histiocytes, distributed in sheets. It often occurs on the face, especially the cheeks, ears and limbs, but can also occur in other parts of the body. The lesion is a single firm nodule that is pink, red, or brownish-red.

This disease usually does not require treatment.

After reading the above analysis, we understand that juvenile melanoma is not a serious problem and is a benign tumor. Therefore, no medical treatment is needed, but if you have this type of tumor, you should pay close attention to your personal hygiene, because inadequate protection of benign tumors can develop into malignant tumors at any time.
