What are the symptoms of chronic rheumatoid arthritis?

Arthritis is a disease that can occur in children, adults, and the elderly. There are many causes of arthritis, the most important of which is cold. Especially in winter, you must take cold-proof measures when you are outdoors. If you ride a vehicle in winter, such as a motorcycle, you must protect your knees, otherwise you will easily get arthritis. So let’s talk about chronic rheumatoid arthritis in children.

Pediatric rheumatoid arthritis is a common connective tissue disease in children, characterized by chronic arthritis and involvement of multiple systems throughout the body. In addition, experts pointed out that pediatric rheumatoid arthritis can occur at any age, but it is more common in adolescents. Fever, rash, swollen and painful joints are all general symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis in children. Of course, there are certain differences between these and the clinical manifestations of rheumatoid arthritis in children.

1. Whole body type

It is more common in young children, and the main symptoms are fever, rash, arthritis and symptoms of involvement of other organs. The fever is irregular, with one or two peaks in a day. The high fever may reach over 40°C, with daily fluctuations of 3 to 4°C. Chills may occur before the fever. The condition is more serious during the fever period, and the child's condition will generally improve after the fever subsides.

2. Polyarticular type

Experts say that this type of disease presents similarly to adult-onset rheumatoid arthritis, with only a few joints affected at the beginning. It is migratory in the early stages and gradually becomes fixed, symmetrical polyarthritis.

3. Single joint type

Only a few joints are affected, mainly the large joints. Joint pain may come and go but rarely causes severe limitation of joint movement. In a few cases of this type, iridocyclitis may occur at the same time as joint involvement, but the systemic symptoms are mild and may include low-grade fever, weakness, mild anemia, and enlarged liver, spleen, and lymph nodes.

After reading these introductions about pediatric rheumatoid arthritis, everyone should have some understanding. If your child has this disease, I hope you will take him to the hospital for examination and receive timely treatment. Early treatment can cure it. Therefore, this type of disease needs to be discovered and treated as early as possible, otherwise it will leave a lifelong shadow on the child.
