What to do if your three-year-old baby has yellow teeth

Everyone wants to have white teeth. But many times, due to bad eating habits, our teeth become very yellow. Although some toothpastes can alleviate this. But the effect is not very ideal. Adults are not so bad, they can choose some dental techniques to improve the situation. But my three-year-old baby’s teeth are a little yellow, which makes things difficult. What should we do if we encounter this kind of problem?

First of all, as parents, we need to know that there are several main reasons for baby’s yellow teeth. Health factors: Poor nutrition or illness during the development of teeth can affect the calcification of teeth, making the teeth yellow and brittle. It may also be a water quality factor: some areas, especially some mountainous areas, have high fluoride content in the water.

When infants and young children's teeth turn yellow, black and fall out, it is due to incomplete development of tooth enamel. Calcium is the main substance that makes up tooth enamel. Calcium deficiency in infants and young children makes the tooth enamel rough and uneven, making it easy for food debris to remain. The lactobacilli in the mouth attach to the enamel surface to form plaque. The bacteria in the plaque continuously decompose food and produce a large amount of organic acids.

It may also be a drug factor: now most people know that tetracycline drugs can cause yellow teeth, especially when taken by children. So as a parent, you can try children's toothpaste.

1. Drinking with a straw

Drinking coffee, soda, tea and other beverages with a straw can minimize the contact between the beverage and the tooth surface, which can significantly reduce the chance of teeth being stained by the beverage and keep teeth whiter longer.

2. Eat teeth whitening foods after drinking red wine or coffee

For example, apples are slightly sour and astringent, and their rough, fiber-rich flesh makes them an ideal food for cleaning teeth. Chewing foods such as apples, celery, and carrots carefully can act like a toothbrush to clean your teeth and wipe away stubborn stains.
