Massage method for children's constipation

Massage method for children's constipation

We humans need to eliminate a lot of toxins and waste from our bodies every day, but once we are constipated, the body's toxins and waste cannot be cleared, which affects our health. Whenever mothers see their children are constipated, they don’t know what to do and feel very anxious. So is there any way to help children get rid of constipation and restore their health? Today we will talk about massage for children's constipation and see what methods you have.

Massage Methods

Step 1: Clean the large intestine 200 times

Position: radial side of the index finger (close to the thumb), in a straight line from the fingertip to the base of the thumb (where the index finger and thumb meet on the palm).

Technique: Pushing method - use the side of the thumb or the tip of the finger to push in a straight line on the acupuncture point.

Operation: Pushing from the base of the thumb straight to the tip of the index finger is called clearing the large intestine; the opposite is called tonifying, which is called tonifying the large intestine. Nourishing the large intestine and clearing the large intestine are collectively referred to as pushing the large intestine. Push 100~300 times.

Key points: The force should be gentle and even, and there should be a rhythm when pushing, with a frequency of about 200 to 300 times per minute. Here, you must pay attention to the direction of pushing from the base of the thumb to the tip of the index finger. This is related to tonification and purgation. If the direction is wrong, the treatment effect will be different, so you must watch carefully!

Step 2: Knead the spine 5 times

Position: From the big vertebra to the end of the coccyx, there is a straight line.

Technique: Pinching method - commonly used on the spine, also known as pinching the spine method. Place your thumb at the back and your index and middle fingers at the front. Use these three fingers to pinch the skin at the same time. Twist your hands alternately and move forward slowly.

Examining the disease and seeking the cause

Constipation is any condition in which the stool is dry and hard, or the interval between bowel movements is too long, or there is a feeling of defecation but difficulty in defecation. This is a common symptom in children, sometimes appearing alone and sometimes secondary to other diseases.

Under normal circumstances, food is digested and absorbed through the gastrointestinal tract, and the remaining residue can only be excreted from the body after 24 to 48 hours. If the interval between bowel movements is too long, more than 48 hours, the water in the stool has been excessively absorbed by the intestines, and the stool is hard and difficult to pass, which is called constipation. Newborns usually pass meconium within 24 hours after birth. If the meconium is not passed for more than 36 hours, it is called neonatal constipation.

There are large individual differences in children's bowel habits. The vast majority of children have a bowel movement once a day, with soft and well-formed stools and smooth bowel movements without any discomfort. Some children only defecate once every 2 to 3 days, but as long as the bowel movements are regular, the stool characteristics are normal, and the child's growth and development are normal, it cannot be considered constipation. On the contrary, if you have a bowel movement once a day, but the stool is dry and hard and defecation is difficult, it is also constipation.

According to the above statement, mothers do not need to worry so much. You can massage your child according to the above method, but pay attention to the strength. Children's skin is relatively thin, and there are many acupuncture points on our body. When using massage, you should also urge your child on food and living habits, let them drink more water, and hope that the child's constipation can be kept away.
