Children's chest tightness, shortness of breath, and breathing difficulties

Children's chest tightness, shortness of breath, and breathing difficulties

Some children are born with some hereditary diseases or congenital defects. These diseases sometimes occur in the chest, such as pleurisy. Once pleurisy occurs, it is very serious. Children often feel pain in the chest and have difficulty breathing. Therefore, if your child is found to have chest tightness, shortness of breath, and difficulty breathing, you must go to the hospital for medical treatment in time, otherwise the best treatment time will be delayed.

I feel chest tightness, shortness of breath, and difficulty breathing. I get chest tightness, shortness of breath, and difficulty breathing when I lie down after getting up in the morning. It gets better after a while. Is it a heart or respiratory problem at five or six in the morning?

Questions answered:

Condition analysis: chest tightness can be not only physiological, but also caused by diseases of certain organs in the body, that is, pathological chest tightness. For example:

1. Respiratory obstruction: tumors in the trachea and bronchus, tracheal stenosis, external pressure on the trachea (thyroid enlargement, tumors in the mediastinum);

2. Lung diseases: emphysema, bronchitis, asthma, atelectasis, pulmonary infarction, pneumothorax;

3. Heart disease: some congenital heart diseases

Diseases: Rheumatic heart valvular disease, coronary heart disease, cardiac tumors;

4. Diaphragmatic diseases: diaphragmatic swelling, diaphragmatic paralysis;

5. Disturbance of body fluid metabolism and acid-base balance, etc.

Pathological chest tightness can occur suddenly or slowly. Most sudden cases are caused by acute traumatic or spontaneous pneumothorax, acute asthma, acute heart attack caused by acute foreign body in the trachea, acute pulmonary infarction, etc. Chronic chest tightness is a condition where the symptoms gradually worsen as the course of the disease progresses. Chest tightness in children often indicates congenital heart disease or mediastinal tumors; chest tightness in young people often indicates spontaneous pneumothorax, mediastinal tumors, rheumatic heart valve disease; chest tightness in the elderly often indicates emphysema, coronary heart disease, etc.

Pathological chest tightness must be taken seriously to avoid delaying necessary treatment. Patients should go to the hospital for chest fluoroscopy, electrocardiogram, echocardiogram, blood biochemistry and pulmonary function tests so that clinical physicians can further confirm the diagnosis.
