46-day baby development indicators

46-day baby development indicators

Babies are young and in the process of continuous development, so parents who stare at their children's bodies every day may not be able to notice it easily. In this case, it is necessary to analyze the child's situation through the child's physical development indicators at each stage. At 46 days old, the baby is soon one month old and you can refer to the corresponding indicators for various aspects of his physical condition. So, what are the development indicators of a 46-day-old baby? Let’s take a look below.

The baby boy weighs 3.4-5.8kg and is 50.8-58.6cm long. The baby girl weighs 3.2-5.5kg and is 49.8-57.6cm long. Weight is an important indicator of growth and development, and is an important basis for judging children's nutritional status, calculating medication dosage, and replenishing fluids.

The average weight of a newborn baby at birth is 3000 grams. The normal range is 2500 to 4000 grams. Generally speaking, children's weight gain increases with age, and the younger they are, the faster they gain weight. But there is one special place.

Newborns may experience temporary weight loss 2 to 3 days after birth due to the excretion of meconium, absorption of vernix caseosa and loss of water, as well as weak sucking ability and small milk intake. The weight may even be lower than the birth weight. This is clinically called "physiological weight loss." By the 3rd to 4th day after birth, weight loss can reach 6 to 9% of birth weight. For example, a baby weighs 3,700 grams at birth and can lose 222 to 333 grams on the 3rd to 4th day. After that, as the baby's milk intake increases, the body's adaptability to the external environment gradually adjusts and the weight gradually increases, returning to the birth weight. If the weight drops by more than 10% of the birth weight, or has not returned to the birth level on the 10th day after birth, it is not normal "physiological weight loss" and the cause should be found out, whether it is improper feeding, insufficient milk, or the child is sick.

Baby height and weight standard

Baby height and weight standards:

Based on the results of the children's physical development survey, the Department of Women and Social Affairs of the Ministry of Health organized relevant experts to research and formulate the "Reference Standards for Growth and Development of Children Under 7 Years Old in China", which was officially announced by the Ministry of Health on June 2, 2009. Boys and girls develop differently. Parents can refer to the data in the following table to see if their child's height and weight are normal. It should be noted that the data is not an absolute standard. As long as the child's height and weight are within the normal range and there are no abnormal symptoms, parents do not need to worry too much.

Height and weight are important indicators to measure whether children's growth and development are normal. The standard calculation formula for normal height and weight of children is introduced as follows:

Standard measurement formula for infant weight: 1. Weight at 1-6 months (kg) = birth weight (or 3 kg) + age in months × 0.6 (kg). 2. Weight from 7 to 12 months (kg) = birth weight (or 3 kg) + age in months × 0.5 (kg). 3. Weight (kg) for children aged 2-10 years = age × 2 + 7 (or 8).

The standard growth pattern of infants' height: the average full-term baby is 50 cm long, and increases by about 25 cm in the first year after birth, so it is about 75 cm at one year old. After that, the average growth is about 5 cm per year. Therefore, the height (cm) of a child between 2 and 12 years old = age × 5 + 75 (cm). Anyone whose height exceeds the standard by 10% or is less than 10% is considered abnormal.
