Someone once did an experiment in which 13 mothers were invited to participate. They were asked to breastfeed their babies once every day between 10 pm and 12 am, which was called "breastfeeding in dreams." During this "dream breastfeeding", try to feed your baby regardless of whether he needs to breastfeed or not.

In this way, when the baby wakes up in the middle of the night, the mother can try not to rush to breastfeed, but should respond to the baby's crying immediately, give him a gentle hug, change the diaper as soon as possible, or hold the baby while walking and patting him gently to comfort him. If your baby falls back asleep, you don't need to breastfeed. If your baby really can't fall asleep, breastfeed. But you should gradually reduce the number of nighttime breastfeedings and extend the interval between breastfeedings.

The experimental results are very encouraging. The babies participating in the experiment breastfed significantly less often at night and significantly more often during the day. Moreover, my sleep time at night was significantly extended and the number of awakenings decreased. After the experiment lasted for 8 weeks, all 13 babies participating in the experiment were able to sleep from 12 o'clock in the evening to 5 o'clock in the morning. In comparison, only 23% of breastfed babies sleep through the night if their mothers do not take this approach.

Method 3: Pause singing to coax people to sleep

We all like to sing our babies to sleep, but sometimes it doesn't work. Sometimes when the mother sings a lullaby to the baby, the song is no longer a lullaby to the baby, but a kind of appreciation. She originally wanted to use the song to coax the baby to sleep, but who knew that the baby would become more awake.

How to do it?

Before implementing the "singing pause method", we need to make two preparations:

Step 1: In the first week, we first try to introduce white noise into the baby's life. Start playing white noise an hour before bedtime and keep it playing all night long.

Step 2: Try to delay gratification 5 times a day. When your baby makes a request, let him wait for a while before satisfying him. Gradually try to extend the time your baby waits. Gradually you will find that your baby can endure waiting longer and longer.

After you are ready, we can try the "singing pause to sleep method". An hour before bedtime, start playing white noise. Make good bedtime preparations, lie down comfortably in bed with your baby, and start singing a bedtime song or telling a bedtime story. After singing for a few minutes, mom can leave with an excuse.
