Early signs of anorexia in teenagers

Early signs of anorexia in teenagers

Anorexia is a psychological disorder in which a person goes on excessive diet and refuses to eat due to fear of getting fat or feeling depressed, resulting in weight loss, malnutrition, and even refusal to maintain a minimum weight. About 95% are female, and they often have similar personality tendencies during adolescence. Anorexia patients are often difficult to treat, so about 10%-20% of them die prematurely. The causes are mostly complications from malnutrition and suicidal behavior caused by mental depression.

At present, many teenagers in our country suffer from anorexia due to poor eating habits and other reasons. Some researchers say that if teenagers show the following nine symptoms, they need to be more careful because these are early signs of anorexia.

One of the signs:

Sudden weight loss. Sudden and unexplained weight loss.

Sign 2:

Fear of heat. When eating, all you think about is calories.

Sign three:

I am afraid of gaining weight, so I weigh myself four or five times a day. I am afraid of gaining weight.

Sign 4:

Excessive exercise. When exercising, don't stop until you are exhausted.

Sign 5:

The gluttony never stops. Eat as much as you want, even to the point of vomiting.

Sign 6:

Avoid dinner parties. Eat alone, don’t want to dine with others, and avoid gatherings.

Sign 7:

Take medicine to lose weight. Start taking large doses of diet pills.

Sign 8:

No smoking or eating. Smoking to suppress appetite.

Sign 9:

If teenagers show the above symptoms , they or their parents need to pay attention. We need to educate and guide them to develop good eating habits, avoid partial eating and overeating, establish correct aesthetic values, and appropriately participate in some cultural and sports activities to enhance their physical fitness. If you do suffer from anorexia, you should receive treatment and conditioning under the diagnosis and guidance of a professional doctor.
