Red pimples on baby's face

The skin of babies is very delicate. Many parents are worried about the phenomenon of red pimples on the babies' faces. It not only affects the appearance, but also causes certain harm to the physical health and skin of many babies. Therefore, many people are worried about this kind of disease. In life, the main phenomenon is infant eczema. At the same time, it will cause a series of diseases, which also have a great impact on the baby's body.

It is also quite common to see pimples on babies’ faces. They are mainly some common phenomena caused by eczema. At the same time, they must be treated in time in life, otherwise it will cause some common diseases and complications. There are many causes of it. Let us briefly introduce baby eczema below.

The cause of infant eczema is complex and its onset is related to a variety of internal and external factors, and it is sometimes difficult to determine the specific cause. The digestive tract ingests food allergens, such as fish, shrimp, beef, mutton, eggs and other allergenic factors. In addition, mechanical friction, such as frequent stimulation from saliva and overflowing milk, is also a cause of this disease. Improper care, such as excessive use of strong alkaline soaps, excessive nutrition, and abnormal intestinal digestion can also cause this disease.

Certain external factors, such as sunlight, ultraviolet rays, cold, humidity and heat, contact with silk or artificial fibers, topical medications, and bacterial skin infections can cause eczema or aggravate its condition.

Disease diagnosis

1. Differentiation from intertrigo: Acute eczema occurring behind the ears, in the groin, around the anus, and on the cervical chin should be differentiated from intertrigo. The latter mostly occurs in obese infants, especially in summer, due to damp heat, drooling, diarrhea and lack of attention to local skin cleanliness.

2. Differentiation from contact dermatitis Sometimes it is necessary to differentiate from contact dermatitis. This disease has a history of contact, and skin lesions occur at the contact site with clear boundaries. Patch testing can be used for identification when contact factors are suspected. However, patch testing is often difficult to perform and inaccurate in the neonatal and infant period.

3. Differentiation from diaper dermatitis and Candida infection When eczema occurs in the diaper area, perianal area, armpits, etc., it must be differentiated from diaper dermatitis and Candida infection.

Diaper dermatitis is a diffuse, well-defined erythema, papules, papulovesicles, and scaling that occurs in the diaper area, perineum, and medial thigh. Change diapers frequently, choose dry diapers, and keep the urine area clean and dry to cure the disease.

Candida infection presents as light red patches and small flat papules with raised edges, clear borders, and a small amount of scale on the edges. Fungi are easily detected and are often accompanied by thrush, angular cheilitis, etc.

The above are the common phenomena of eczema in babies. It is mainly caused by internal and external factors. At the same time, it has a lot to do with the baby’s common lack of attention to hygiene and infection of some diseases. Therefore, we must pay attention to the preventive care of the baby in life, eat more light diet, vegetables and fruits, including many spicy and irritating foods, try to avoid eating them.
