From the perspective of children's health, in order to give children a healthy body, many of our parents should pay more attention to their diet. There are many foods that are not suitable for our children to eat. Let us tell you which foods are not suitable for children. 1. Western fast food In recent years, foreign fast food has become popular in China. It is very popular among children because of its good dining environment, novel dining method and tempting flavor. In order to cater to their children's tastes, some parents are willing to spend generously to meet their children's demands. But the problem is that many children have become "little fat kids" because of their overweight. "Little fat kids" are prone to various "civilized diseases" such as high blood pressure, diabetes, fatty liver, and obese brain, which seriously endanger their physical and intellectual development. 2. Acidic Foods The acidic food mentioned here does not refer to the taste of the food but to its nature, such as various meats, eggs and sugars. This type of food is exactly the "high-nutrition food" that people value, and is often included in children's diets by parents as the first choice food. However, their final metabolic products after entering the human body are acidic components, which can make the blood acidic, change the normal weak alkaline state of the blood, and lead to an acidic physique. As a result, a large amount of potassium, calcium, magnesium, zinc and other elements involved in the normal development of the brain and maintaining the physiological functions of the brain are consumed, causing thinking disorders and making children suffer from autism. We should pay attention to adjusting the structure of the three meals, appropriately reduce the proportion of so-called "nutritional foods" such as protein, fat and sugar, and increase the proportion of foods rich in vegetables, fruits, etc. 3. Instant noodles Instant noodles are one of the popular fast foods nowadays. Its production method is also introduced from abroad. To distinguish it from Western fast food such as McDonald's and KFC, we may as well call it "local fast food". This kind of "rustic fast food" is made of fried noodles, salt and MSG. Its biggest drawback is that it lacks protein, fat, vitamins and trace elements, which are the nutrients essential for children's growth and development. Instant noodles should not become children’s staple food, otherwise it may induce malnutrition and harm their physical and intellectual development. 4. Chocolate Although chocolate is a food with a relatively long history, due to the discovery of its various health benefits (such as protecting the heart, preventing cancer, losing weight, and boosting mood, etc.), it has attracted more and more attention and advocacy from health experts, and has gradually become a fashionable food. But it should be noted that children should be appropriately restricted, otherwise they are prone to enuresis. Chocolate can cause an allergic reaction in children, causing the bladder wall to swell, capacity to decrease, smooth muscle to become rough, and cramps to occur. At the same time, this allergic reaction can make children sleep too deeply, making it impossible for them to wake up in time when their urine is full, thus causing bed-wetting. As children enter puberty, chocolate no longer causes allergic reactions and enuresis disappears. During childhood, children should eat less or no chocolate before going to bed. 5. Coffee Coffee contains a lot of caffeine, which has the adverse effect of hindering the bone development of infants. Therefore, children who often drink coffee, eat coffee candies or coffee biscuits are encouraged to drink more boiled water and have less or no contact with coffee. 6. Dried fish fillets Dried fish fillets are made from marine fish and are rich in nutrients such as protein, calcium, phosphorus, etc. They taste delicious, so parents are happy to buy them and children are also happy to eat them. But be aware that dried fish fillets often contain too much of an element called fluoride. It has been measured that the fluorine content in dried fish fillets is more than 2,400 times that of beef, mutton and pork, and more than 4,800 times that of fruits and vegetables. The human body's daily physiological requirement for fluorine is only 1 mg to 1.5 mg, so the safe limit of fluoride intake from food should not exceed 4 mg to 6 mg per day. If this limit is exceeded, fluoride will accumulate in the body and over time will cause chronic fluoride poisoning, causing the teeth to become rough and dull. In order for children to have a set of white and neat "jade teeth", the amount of dried fish fillets they eat must be limited, and children should never be allowed to consume large amounts over a long period of time. 7. Soy milk For many years, no one has questioned that soy milk is the best alternative for infant feeding. However, in recent years, research reports have pointed out the disadvantages of drinking soy milk for babies. First, people who are engaged in the research of genetically modified agricultural products and human health have found that children who grow up eating soy milk have an increased risk of developing thyroid and reproductive system diseases when they grow up. The reason is that infants respond differently to the high content of phytoestrogens in soybeans than adults. Only 5% of the phytoestrogens ingested by infants can bind to estrogen receptors, and the remaining phytoestrogens accumulate in the body, which may pose a hidden danger to future sexual development. Data shows that children who grow up drinking soy milk have a 2-3 times higher risk of developing breast cancer in the future than the average person. Subsequently, there were reports indicating that the manganese content in soy milk and soy milk substitutes was 50 times higher than that in breast milk. Excessive absorption of manganese would affect the brain development of infants under 6 months old, thereby increasing the likelihood of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and violent impulses in adolescence. Breastfeeding is encouraged, and it is best for infants, especially those under 6 months old, not to drink soy milk.
8. Cold drinks When summer comes, many children cannot do without cold drinks, such as popsicles, ice cream, etc. Little do people know that children's intestines are longer and thinner than those of adults, and their mesentery is loose and has poor fixation ability. Once stimulated by cold drinks, it can cause spasm of the intestinal smooth muscles and increased peristalsis, which can then induce intussusception, causing intestinal obstruction and endangering life. Children should be cautious when drinking cold drinks in summer and avoid indulgence to prevent accidents. If you experience symptoms such as abdominal pain or vomiting, seek medical attention immediately. Finally, although our living conditions and nutritional status have improved greatly compared to 10 years ago, the nutritional status of some children has not improved accordingly, and even some "high-end junk food" has emerged. Therefore, parents must be careful when choosing food for their children in daily life. |
