Blood in the stool in children

Blood in the stool in children

With the continuous development of modernization, people's quality of life is constantly improving, and people's living standards are constantly accelerating. It is precisely because of this situation that people do more things, but people also know more things. What is the matter with bloody stools in children? This is also a rather troublesome matter.

In fact, it is quite common for children to have bloody stools in many cases, but people don't need to worry too much because medical technology is relatively advanced. The following is some information about this type of children's bloody stools.

Causes of blood in newborn stools

Dysentery: includes bacillary dysentery and amoebic dysentery. Symptoms include fever, increased frequency of bowel movements, tenesmus, and fresh blood and mucus mixed in the stool.

Hemorrhagic enteritis: fever, abdominal pain, vomiting, increased frequency of bowel movements with mucus and blood, or red bean-like stools.

Intussusception: The child has paroxysmal crying (due to abdominal pain), repeated vomiting, abdominal distension, jam-like stools, and a sausage-like lump can be felt in the abdomen.

What to do if your stool contains blood

Cultivate good habits of regular bowel movements in children. Choose a time when both parents and children are not pressed for time, let the child defecate, and do it patiently on time every day, which can help develop a habit of defecation on time.

Let the child have appropriate amount of activities. In the late neonatal period, the child can be placed in a prone position on an empty stomach.

When the baby is a little older, you can let him roll and crawl on the bed. This is not only helpful in preventing constipation, but also beneficial to the healthy development of the child.

Carry out scientific feeding. Children's diet should be combined with their physiological characteristics, meet their growth needs and ensure their health, so there must be a reasonable dietary structure. Children need to consume enough protein, but they must also consume an appropriate proportion of carbohydrates. They do not have to eat only refined white rice and enriched flour. They should eat more whole grains, vegetables, fruits and other foods rich in dietary fiber, which play a greater role in preventing constipation in children.

When a child has constipation, anal fissure, or bloody stool, parents should not simply use laxatives or insert suppositories into the child's anus. Instead, parents should let the child eat more fresh fruits and vegetables, drink plenty of water, treat both the symptoms and the root cause, and relieve the child's pain.

Through the above understanding and introduction, I believe everyone can have a certain understanding of this kind of children's bloody stools. At the same time, I also hope that everyone can get help from the above knowledge. At the same time, I also hope that everyone will pay more attention to the baby’s eating habits in daily life, and pay attention to daily life habits. This is also very important.
