Symptoms of dental caries in children, what is considered dental caries

Good teeth have a great impact on a child's life. So for parents, of course they hope that their children have good teeth. Therefore, parents must pay great attention to this issue. Once symptoms of tooth decay appear in children, they must observe carefully. If necessary, they must go to the hospital for a comprehensive examination to effectively improve the problem of tooth decay in children and keep the baby's teeth healthy.

Of course, for parents and friends, in addition to understanding the symptoms of children's tooth decay, the most critical issue is to pay attention to understanding why children's tooth decay occurs, and then prevent it as soon as possible.

According to the degree of caries damage, caries can be divided into shallow, moderate and deep caries.

Shallow caries. The lesions are only in the enamel. The color of the teeth should originally remain the same. When black spots or decalcified white spots begin to appear on the surface, or when food is always stuck in a certain place, it means that the enamel of the teeth at this place has been destroyed, and the child will not feel any discomfort.

Medium caries. The lesions have reached the dentin, forming shallow caries holes. At this time, children are sensitive to cold, sour, and hot stimuli and are prone to soreness and pain; or they feel uncomfortable when food gets stuck in the teeth, but the discomfort will be relieved after it is cleared.

Deep caries. The lesion has reached the pulp cavity and the pain will last for a while before disappearing. If not treated, the bacteria will reach the apex along the root of the tooth, causing apical eye inflammation, resulting in chronic lesions, causing inflammation of the alveolar bone and mandible, osteomyelitis and systemic diseases.

If your child suffers from tooth decay, you should take him or her to the hospital to see a dentist and receive timely treatment to prevent the cavity from becoming deeper and larger. Do not wait until permanent teeth are replaced, because dental caries in children can easily lead to serious complications, and dental caries may affect the child's eating habits, and nutritional problems may affect the child's growth and development.

Therefore, parents should understand the symptoms of children's tooth decay and then provide treatment according to different situations. Of course, the most critical issue for parents is to go to the hospital for treatment and follow the doctor's advice to keep their children away from the troubles of children's tooth decay.
