It is best not to fill teeth for young children easily, because their teeth are still in a stage of growth and development. If they do so at this time, it will cause some damage to their teeth. So try not to let young children get their teeth filled unless it is absolutely necessary. If there is a real problem with the teeth, better materials will need to be used to fill them. Dental filling refers to the method of repairing tooth defects with artificial substances, which includes two main steps: cavity preparation and filling. Artificial substances used to repair teeth are called filling materials. Any tooth tissue defects caused by caries, wedge-shaped defects, trauma, etc. need to be repaired to restore its appearance and function. When the lesion has spread to the dental pulp and even caused periapical disease, the dental pulp should be treated first and then the tooth should be filled. For the restored teeth, timely and necessary protection should be given, and the following matters should be noted: 1. Follow the doctor's advice and do not chew food or hard objects with the newly filled teeth. After a tooth is filled, you should generally chew food on the affected side on the 2nd or 3rd day to prevent the tooth from breaking and the filling from falling off. 2. If you experience slight pain after filling a tooth, you can observe yourself first. Some slight discomfort and pain may disappear on their own. If the pain does not ease but worsens, or if biting pain, throbbing pain, pain from hot or cold stimulation, or spontaneous pain at night occurs, you should go to the hospital for follow-up examination and treatment in time to find out the cause and eliminate the pain. 3. For teeth with large areas of severe caries, tooth fractures are prone to occur during chewing due to insufficient resistance of the tooth itself after restoration. Therefore, after filling these teeth, the affected teeth should be protected with shell crowns in time according to the doctor's advice to prevent the crowns from breaking. 4. Go for follow-up consultation promptly at the time agreed upon by the doctor. (1) Do not use a rough toothbrush to brush the surface of the restoration within one week, because the degree of light curing of the resin is only 50%, which can reach 90% within 24 hours and 100% after 7 days. (2) Do not bite hard objects with the restoration, drink less strong tea, smoke less, and avoid using metal. 2. Due to the entire treatment process of preparing the cavity for tooth filling or the stimulation of the pulp by disinfectants, short-term hot or cold stimulation pain may occur. Such situations do not require special treatment and generally recover on their own after one or two days. This type of situation is one of the most likely to occur. For the pain that occurs during this period, it is best not to eat foods that are too cold or hot after taking the supplement. In this way, you can avoid this situation to a large extent. |
