How to adjust the newborn baby's upside-down sleep

Children's sleep is of great significance to their healthy growth. However, in real life, many babies have irregular sleep patterns, especially some babies have sleep problems with day and night reversal. This problem will not only affect the child's physical health, but also affect the parents' normal life. So, how to adjust if the newborn sleeps upside down?

1. Determine whether the baby is infected with the disease

Under normal circumstances, babies come out of the mother's body with innate immunity, which usually disappears after about 6 months, but it does not mean that newborns will not get sick. If your baby keeps crying, you should first rule out whether the baby is sick: for example, diarrhea, abdominal distension, etc. If this happens, please seek medical attention immediately.

2. Determine whether the baby has other physiological needs

Generally speaking, if a newborn baby cries, the first thing to do is to check the diaper to see if the crying is caused by discomfort due to poop or heavy diapers;

Again, check if the baby is hungry. At this time, it is recommended that mothers try to breastfeed or prepare milk powder early. Generally speaking, babies are not in the mood to wait for the milk powder to cool down.

Again, is it because of lack of security and missing your mother? Don’t be overly superstitious about letting newborns sleep on their own, and don’t leave your baby with an elder or a babysitter to sleep while you sleep soundly in another room. There is a natural closeness between babies and mothers, and a mother's comfort is more effective than anyone else's.

3. The baby sleeps too much during the day

1. Be familiar with your baby's sleeping habits. Generally speaking, don't expect newborns to sleep through the night like adults. As long as they can sleep for 4 to 5 hours at a time, it is considered continuous sleep.

2. Cultivate your baby's understanding of the concept of day and night: move the baby's cradle to the living room during the day, keep the room bright, and don't deliberately lower the noise when the baby is sleeping so as not to disturb them; if the baby's physical condition and the outdoor temperature are suitable, you can take the baby outdoors for activities during the day; please do not sleep with the lights on at night, try to turn off the lights and keep quiet to create a good sleeping atmosphere at night.

3. Please reduce your baby’s long sleep during the day. During the day, please try to let your baby sleep no more than 3 to 4 hours at a time. You can wake them up every 2 to 3 hours by gently pinching their ears, stroking their face, kneading the soles of their feet, etc. Make your baby's daytime sleep into short sleeps.

4. Don’t let your baby sleep in the evening. Never let your baby enter deep sleep from five or six o'clock. You can play with your baby, bathe him, etc. to attract his attention and keep him awake.

5. Use diapers for your baby at night!!! This is very important! Nowadays, many families have elderly people taking care of their children. The older generation is still not very accepting of diapers and would rather wash diapers. However, new mothers must insist on using diapers at night when "fighting wits and courage" with the elderly. Otherwise, the baby will wake up every time he pees, and he won’t be able to rest well!

6. Don’t rush to pick up your child if he cries at night, as this may wake him up completely. When your baby cries at night, first find out the reason (please see the first and second items for details), then pat the baby gently, hum a soft song, or hold the baby's hand. If all else fails, then pick up the baby and comfort him.
