What to do if your child has a fever

What to do if your child has a fever

Many new mothers lack experience in taking care of children, so they are often panicked when unexpected situations occur with their children. For example, if a child suddenly has a fever all over his body, he doesn’t know what to do. Now, I will introduce to you some specific measures to deal with children's systemic fever. I hope you will read it.

It is recommended to use physical cooling. Use warm water to wipe the baby's hands, feet and forehead. The water temperature should be between 36-38 degrees, until the baby's head sweats. Wrap the baby up quickly after washing, do not leave it out to dry, and then let the baby drink warm boiled water. Remember, do not dehydrate the baby. With this treatment, the baby's body temperature will generally drop. If the fever exceeds 38.5 degrees, you should take antipyretics.

Nursing methods: In addition to the nursing methods in the simple fever example, one or more of the following auxiliary measures should be taken:

1. If the arms and hands are cold, you can gently scrape the arms to allow more blood to flow and warm up the hands and arms. (The direction of scraping is from the hand to the elbow, and gently scrape along the bones along the outside of the forearm)

2. If both your calves and feet are cold, you can apply scraping or hot compresses to the large muscles on the back of your calves. The direction of scraping is still from the feet upwards. If you want to apply hot compress, you can use hot water with a small piece of ginger to heat the towel, but don't do it too strongly.

3. When the hands and feet also start to burn, it means that the blood is being directed to the extremities. At the same time, more blood will flow to the head, helping the head to relax. After doing this, the child will fall asleep easily.

4. Do the process slowly and quietly, and don't panic. Panic will cause the child to experience two situations: stopping the fever, or causing the temperature to rise sharply. After scraping, the child will be calmer, and you can help the child use the massage methods mentioned in “How to Help Children Calm Their Minds and Strengthen Their Internal Organs – You Are the Best Doctor for Yourself and Your Child 1” to relax the child internally and help the child relax and open his mind.

The above introduces the countermeasures for children's whole-body fever. Children's whole-body fever still needs to be dealt with in a timely manner. In addition, if mothers have time, they can read more books about parenting knowledge. I hope I can help you in life, and I wish you all a happy life!
