Children's urine routine examination shows occult blood

There are corresponding examinations for each type of problem in life. These examinations can not only detect potential problems in the body in time, but also provide timely treatment and prevention of the disease. For example, many children often have urethral diseases and need to undergo a routine urine test. Some people will be found to have blood in the urine. What should we do in this case?

How to cause

If the urine is positive for occult blood and has protein, kidney disease and bleeding disease should be considered first, and further renal function tests can be performed; if the urine protein is negative, the bleeding site and nature should be investigated by a specialist. It is generally believed that lower urinary tract bleeding may not be obvious because the red blood cells are not destroyed.

How to diagnose

Urinalysis examination includes the following: first, check the blood cells in the urine; second, check the tubular objects in the urine. Both are checked under a high-power microscope. Urine occult blood vessels + -, there are a small number of blood cells in the urine, so they can be vaguely seen under the microscope, and the medical symbol is (+), which means positive; tubular objects, a small amount can also be seen under the microscope, but it is lower than the standard base within a certain field of view, so it is expressed as (-), which means negative. Some items on the urine routine analysis test sheet have + or +++... or numbers behind them to indicate different degrees

Confusing symptoms

1. Urine protein (PR0)

Normal urine routine examination usually contains no protein or only trace amounts. Increased and persistent urine protein is often seen in kidney disease. However, urine protein may occasionally appear during fever, strenuous exercise, and pregnancy. Therefore, when there is protein in the urine, follow-up observation is required to clarify the cause.

2. Urine glucose (GLU)

Positive urine sugar should be combined with clinical analysis. It may be diabetes or it may be caused by a lowered renal glucose threshold. Renal diabetes should be diagnosed in combination with blood sugar testing and related test results. Vitamin C and aspirin in urine can affect urine sugar results. Therefore, vitamin C and aspirin should be stopped 24 hours before checking urine sugar.

3. Urine red blood cells (RBC)

When there are more than 5 red blood cells in each high-power microscope field, it is called microscopic hematuria; when there are a large number of red blood cells, it is called macroscopic hematuria. It can be seen in urinary system inflammation, infection, stones, tumors, etc. It should be taken seriously and immediately go to a urology specialist for further examination to determine the location and cause of hematuria.

4. Urine white blood cells (WBC)

The urine with more than 5 white blood cells in each high-power microscope field is called leukocytosis. A large number of white blood cells is called pyuria, which indicates urinary tract infection such as pyelonephritis, cystitis, urethritis, etc.
