Are children's mosquito coils harmful to babies?

In summer, flies and mosquitoes will multiply in large numbers. They are very common around us and can cause great annoyance to everyone. Mosquitoes also suck human blood, causing redness, swelling and itching on the skin, which is very uncomfortable. Especially since babies’ skin is very tender, they will immediately become red, swollen and swollen after being bitten by mosquitoes, so many parents will light children’s mosquito coils for their babies. So, are children's mosquito coils harmful to babies?

Mosquitoes can spread dysentery, Japanese encephalitis, hepatitis and many other diseases. It is important to maintain a clean environment around the residence and the baby's room, and to do a good job of mosquito control and prevention. The main ingredient of mosquito coils is insecticide, usually pyrethroids, which are less toxic. However, some mosquito coils are made of organochlorine pesticides, organophosphorus pesticides, carbamate pesticides, etc. Although these mosquito coils have enhanced mosquito repellent effects, their toxicity is relatively much greater. Generally speaking, mosquito coils should not be used in the baby's room.

Electric mosquito coils are less toxic, but because infants and young children have vigorous metabolism and strong skin absorption capacity, the use of electric mosquito coils is harmful to children's health. It is best not to use them frequently. If you must use them, place them in a well-ventilated place and avoid using them for a long time.

It is absolutely forbidden to spray insecticide in the baby's room. If an infant inhales excessive amounts of pesticides, he or she will experience acute hemolytic reactions and organ hypoxia, and in severe cases, it may lead to heart failure, organ damage, or conversion to aplastic anemia.

It can be seen from this that lighting mosquito coils in summer will have an impact on babies, but what should you do if mosquitoes bite your baby without lighting mosquito coils? Moreover, the baby's skin is very delicate, and once bitten, a big bump will appear that will not go away for many days.

Plant-based mosquito repellents are safe and effective

1. Tuberose: also known as night-scented tree, native to tropical America. The leaves are heart-shaped with soft hairs on the edges. Between summer and autumn, clusters of yellow-green bell-shaped flowers bloom in the leaf axils. When the moon rises above the treetops, bursts of fragrance waft out. Legend has it that this fragrance can scare mosquitoes away, and it is a traditional mosquito repellent plant in America.

2. Lavender: It is a small blue-purple flower. It is native to the Mediterranean, likes dry weather, and its flowers are shaped like wheat ears and usually bloom in June. There are dozens of species of pitcher plants. Different species have different shapes, sizes and colors of pitchers, and they are experts at catching mosquitoes.
