Causes of vaginitis in children

Causes of vaginitis in children

In the eyes of many people, vaginitis only occurs in women, but in fact, the phenomenon of vaginitis in children also makes many parents worry. After all, for children, this phenomenon has a greater impact on their reproductive health. So below I will give you a detailed introduction to some causes of vaginitis in children. I hope that after understanding these causes, everyone can solve them scientifically.

Because girls' ovarian function is not yet fully developed and their bodies lack estrogen, their vulva and vagina have low resistance. In addition, the opening of girls' hymen is relatively large and close to the anus, making it easy for it to be contaminated and cause inflammation. In girls, inflammation is the most common disease of the reproductive organs. The main causes of vulvovaginitis in young girls are:

1. Poor hygiene of the vulva and anus. After a girl has a bowel movement, the toilet paper used to wipe the anus may rub against the vulva, or the feces residue that has not been wiped clean may contaminate the underwear, causing the bacteria in the feces to enter the vulva and cause inflammation. Common intestinal parasites in children, such as pinworms, can also enter the vagina from the anus and cause infection.

2. Talcum powder or soap residues accumulate in the hymen and labia majora, soap and laundry detergent residues remain on underwear, and improper use of local medications can cause irritation or allergic inflammation. Nylon and synthetic fiber underwear can also cause allergic inflammation in some girls.

3. If a child has an infection in the respiratory tract or other parts of the body, the girl's hands can carry the pathogens from the original infected area to the vulva. In addition, when playing, foreign objects such as rags, fruit cores, mud and sand can also enter the labia majora and vagina, causing inflammation.

4. For obese girls, the friction between the vulva and the thighs, moisture and pressure, or unclean skin folds may cause skin lesions and infections.

5. Sharing a bathtub, bath towel, toilet with family members or babysitters, or swimming in a public swimming pool may cause children to be infected with adult genital inflammation. Gonococcal vulvovaginitis, one of the sexually transmitted diseases whose incidence has increased sharply in recent years, has been found in young girls.

To ensure that children grow up to be healthy and beautiful women, parents must keep the following in mind:

1. Girls should have their own dedicated bathtub and towel, avoid using toilets, and avoid swimming in public swimming pools without health checks.

2. Develop good hygiene habits, wipe from front to back after defecation, cut nails frequently, wash perineum and change underwear frequently, and wash hands before and after meals. Intestinal parasites in children should be eliminated in a timely manner.

The above is an introduction to childhood vaginitis. After scientifically understanding these causes, parents can promptly discover whether their babies are affected by these reproductive diseases while taking care of them, and try to reduce the harm caused by this disease to their physical and mental health.
