What should I do if my child’s throat is always hoarse?

If a child's throat always has a hoarse sound, it usually means that the baby has tics. Babies with tics need to go to the hospital for relevant examinations and treatments in time to avoid worsening of the condition, which will cause great harm to the child's health. Babies with tics must eat less spicy and irritating foods, drink more water, and eat more fresh vegetables and fruits.

Why does my child's throat always hoarse?

The early symptoms of tics include constant throat clearing sounds, which parents may mistakenly think are symptoms of a cold or pharyngitis, but in fact the children do not have any infection or other inflammatory symptoms.

Children always clear their throats due to involuntary twitching of the laryngeal muscles. This is a disease caused by problems with the expression of neurotransmitters. In addition to clearing the throat, other muscle groups may also twitch.

How to prevent tics in children

Actively treat tics

Tourette syndrome is treatable, and children with Tourette syndrome can live and study normally after treatment. Drug therapy is the basic treatment method, and psychological and behavioral intervention based on drug therapy is the most appropriate treatment option.

Reduce external triggers

Studies have shown that respiratory tract infections can induce tics. Therefore, actively improving children's immunity and reducing the occurrence of infectious diseases can reduce the incidence and recurrence of tics.

Improve the home environment

Children may encounter various psychological events at home, at school, and in society that may cause them to become nervous and anxious, which may induce or aggravate tic symptoms.

If there is anything abnormal in the child, parents must pay attention to it, because it is possible that some minor problems are not paid attention to and lead to the formation of a serious illness. When a child has a hoarse throat, take him to the hospital for examination and treatment. Be sure to check and treat in a timely manner, and do not wait until the situation becomes serious before remembering to check.
