There is pus in the eight-month-old baby's ear.

Many parents are afraid to pick their babies' ears when they are young, for fear of breaking their ears and causing infection. Nowadays, many parents like to take their babies swimming when they are young. Some eight-month-old babies have pus in their ears. The pus in the baby's ear may be related to frequent swimming. Next, I will tell parents how to deal with pus in their baby’s ears.

1. What to do if pus comes out of the ear

1. Due to poor overall health, such as physical weakness and body resistance. Otitis media can easily occur when resistance or immunity is low or allergic reactions occur.

2. Upper respiratory tract infections such as colds, acute pharyngitis, tonsillitis, allergic rhinitis, etc. can induce acute otitis media.

3. Nasal and sinus infections, such as chronic rhinitis and sinusitis, can cause otitis media.

4. Nasopharyngeal diseases, such as adenoids hypertrophy, chronic inflammation and tumors.

5. Nasal packing or anterior and posterior nasal packing affects the function of the Eustachian tube.

6. After eardrum trauma, water enters the ear canal and causes infection.

7. Incorrect feeding method may cause the baby to choke on milk that enters the Eustachian tube and induce otitis media.

8. Incorrect nose blowing method will blow dirt into the middle ear through the Eustachian tube and induce otitis media.

9. Inflammation of the external auditory canal and eardrum cannot be controlled and spreads to the middle ear, causing otitis media.

The above are the reasons for otitis media, that is, pus in the ear. If purulent otitis media is not treated in time, the human body will have systemic poisoning reactions such as fever, fear of cold, loss of appetite, vomiting, and diarrhea. The ear pain is particularly severe. Because the tympanic cavity is very close to the head, if otitis media is not treated in time, it is very likely to be complicated by other serious diseases. Therefore, if pus is found in the ear, it should be treated in time.

2. Precautions for self-treatment

(1) Actively treat nasopharyngeal diseases to prevent bacteria from entering the middle ear and causing inflammation.

(2) Do not blow your nose forcefully or rinse your nasal cavity casually. Do not close both nostrils at the same time. Blow your nose crosswise.

(3) When removing earwax from the bottom, be very careful and moisten it before removing to avoid damaging the eardrum.

(4) After swimming to shore, tilt your head and hop on one foot to let the water in your ears flow out. It is best to use a cotton swab to absorb the moisture.

(5) During the acute phase, take rest and keep the nasal cavity open.

(6) People with chronic otitis media should not swim.

(7) Strengthen physical exercise, improve rest quality, and reduce colds.

(8) Avoid spicy foods, such as ginger, pepper, wine, mutton, chili peppers, etc.

(9) Do not take heat-inducing tonic medicines, such as ginseng, cinnamon, aconite, deer antler, bullwhip, and tonic paste.

(10) Eat more fresh vegetables that have the effect of clearing heat and relieving inflammation, such as celery, loofah, eggplant, shepherd's purse, basil, cucumber, bitter gourd, etc.

(11) If a bug enters your ear canal, do not be impatient or try to catch it forcefully. Instead, drop some cooking oil into your ear to kill the bug and then catch it.
