Baby suddenly refuses complementary food

Baby suddenly refuses complementary food

Eating complementary foods is a necessary part of the baby's growth process. Generally, after half a year, the baby can slowly eat complementary foods that are easy to swallow and digest. Generally speaking, babies will like to eat complementary foods after they get used to the taste of them. However, some parents find that their babies were used to complementary foods before, but suddenly refuse complementary foods. So, what happens if the baby suddenly refuses complementary food?

1. The baby may be teething at this time. Before teething, the baby's tooth roots will be very itchy and the gums will be uncomfortable. He will only like to eat some liquid foods, such as milk, juice, etc., and may not like solid foods. If your baby doesn’t want to eat at this time, don’t force him/her. You can give him/her more milk powder and juice to make up for the nutritional deficiencies.

2. The baby may have eaten too much recently, resulting in indigestion. The food in the body has not been completely digested, which has hurt the stomach and intestines. The baby needs a certain amount of time to digest these things. At this time, you can give the baby some pediatric chicken gizzard powder, or if you have chicken gizzard at home, grind it into powder and add it to the baby's complementary food, which is very helpful for digestion.

3. Maybe the baby is not feeling well recently, and his stomach and intestines are still very weak. You can wait until the baby recovers before supplementing him together.

4. The food may not be to the baby’s taste. After the baby grows teeth, he may not be willing to eat mushy food, and prefer to eat food with a chewy texture, such as noodles and porridge. Add some broth, such as bone soup, fish soup, etc. The baby will also understand the taste at this time. Every time my baby eats these cereals, I give her shrimp, fish, vegetables, etc. before she is willing to eat. Sometimes I have to dip some tasty soup on her lips with chopsticks before she is willing to eat.

Another thing is that if there are many people around and it’s lively during a meal, my baby eats faster. Letting him sit at a fixed dining table to eat will help him develop a better habit.

5. The baby may be lacking zinc and has a poor appetite, which may be cured by supplementing it.
