Child blinking while watching TV

Child blinking while watching TV

Children always blink when watching TV, but many parents cannot notice it immediately. They always wait until their children's symptoms become more and more serious before they can discover it. If they treat it at this time, the effect will not be so good. It may even lead to more and more eye diseases, causing the child's vision to deteriorate very quickly. Therefore, you should check your child's vision immediately when you have eye problems.

1. Check your eyesight

When a child keeps blinking while watching TV, the first thing that comes to mind is to have his eyesight checked. Many elderly people believe that: "Children cannot wear glasses, otherwise the degree will become higher and higher." In this regard, experts say that the increase in the degree of glasses is not caused by wearing glasses. If you do not wear glasses and continue to have difficulty using your eyes, your vision will deteriorate faster. Choosing the right glasses can not only improve vision, but also reduce eyesight fatigue. In addition, we see many children wearing glasses, which may not be due to myopia but to astigmatism.

In addition, some preschool children always blink after watching TV. Parents think that this may be caused by visual fatigue due to watching TV for a long time, so they just let them stop watching TV and take a rest. Experts say that if children always blink after watching TV, it may be that there is a problem with their vision. In this case, parents should take them to the hospital to check their vision, have their eyes tested, or have their fundus examined.

2. Strengthen outdoor sports

Children often blink when watching TV. Many people may think that the problem can only be solved through eye contact and would never think of outdoor sports. In fact, outdoor sports can also be strengthened.

3. Vitamin Supplement

In fact, in addition to excessive eye use and genetic factors, the factors that affect children's vision may also be related to the lack of nutrients supplemented by the mother during pregnancy. Among them, lutein is an important element for protecting eyes and delaying eye aging. The retina and macula are responsible for sensing images, fine vision and clarity, and are required for daily tasks such as distinguishing colors, reading and literacy. If the macula and retina lack lutein for a long time, it will affect vision. Sources of lutein: spinach, lettuce, celery, carrots, corn, oranges, etc. It may also be caused by a deficiency of vitamin A or vitamin C. You can take appropriate vitamin tablets or eat some cod liver oil. It is recommended to eat more vegetables and fruits rich in vitamin A and C.

Vitamin A can form photosensitive substances on the surface of the retina. Night blindness is caused by vitamin A deficiency. Staring at a computer screen for a long time will consume a lot of vitamin A. The most common food rich in vitamin A is animal offal, but it contains high cholesterol and is not suitable for consumption in large quantities.

Guava, kiwi, papaya, orange, tangerine, grapefruit, strawberry, etc. contain more vitamin C. At the same time, seasonal fruits are higher in vitamin C. Some vegetables contain vitamin C and provide beta-carotene, such as green peppers, kale, broccoli, spinach, tomatoes, etc. However, vitamin C is afraid of heat, light, and iron pans, so it is best to eat it raw to reduce the loss of nutrients.

In addition to beta-carotene, other members of the carotenoid family, such as lutein and zeaxanthin, also contribute to eye health. Sources of carotenoids include dark yellow, dark green and red fruits and vegetables, such as pumpkin, green pepper, tomato, corn, papaya, cantaloupe, mango, watermelon, etc. Lutein and zeaxanthin can be found in dark green leafy vegetables such as spinach, kale, mustard greens, celery, etc.

4. Pay attention to eye hygiene

Another important factor that may cause children to blink frequently while watching TV is that they do not pay attention to eye hygiene. Not paying attention to eye hygiene may include mixing toiletries and rubbing their eyes with dirty hands. Parents should educate their children: pay attention to eye hygiene, keep an upright sitting posture, do not lie on the bed to read or watch TV programs; do not read while walking or in a moving vehicle; do not read in a dim environment; look into the distance for a while after reading and writing for half an hour; do not stare at the sunlight or strong light; do not wipe your eyes with dirty hands or dirty handkerchiefs, so as not to damage the eyes, reduce vision or suffer from eye diseases.
