What is the reason for excessive sweating on children’s heads?

When the child is sleeping, parents often cannot rest at this time. They must stay with the baby, for fear that he might have problems, such as falling off the bed. Many parents have found that when their babies fall asleep, they sweat a lot on their heads, which is obviously abnormal. So what is the reason for excessive sweating on the child's head? How should it be handled correctly?

The baby is in a stage of rapid growth and has an active metabolism. He needs to dissipate body heat through sweating. In addition, the baby's autonomic nervous system is not fully developed. When the baby just falls asleep, the sympathetic nerves will lose control of the brain, resulting in excessive sweating on the head, neck or back. This is a normal physiological phenomenon. This type of sweating often occurs within half an hour after the baby falls asleep, and the sweating is mostly concentrated on the head. It usually stops slowly within 2 hours after falling asleep and gradually disappears with age. This condition is medically called "physiological hyperhidrosis". In addition, the following two situations can also cause the baby's head to sweat a lot when sleeping:

1. Cover too much. When the child goes to bed at night, parents are often accustomed to deciding the best environmental temperature for their children based on their own subjective feelings, and like to cover them tightly. In fact, this is not true. Because children's body temperature regulation function is not fully developed, and they are covered tightly, it will cause excessive heat production, so they can only dissipate heat through sweating.

2. Overnutrition. Some parents, worried about their children's malnutrition, always try to get them to eat more supplements. However, they do not realize that this will cause their children to suffer from overnutrition. Even after falling asleep, the body still produces a lot of heat energy, so it has to dissipate heat through sweating.
