Ways to prevent asthma (1) Asthma is often caused by weakness, so you should avoid catching cold. From the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine, children with asthma mainly suffer from deficiency syndrome. These children have weak constitutions and are more sensitive, and most of them have cold asthma type. Therefore, children are most likely to get sick when cold air arrives. Parents should add or remove clothes for their children in time according to weather changes, so as not to let their children catch cold. In summer, try to use air conditioning as little as possible and avoid electric fans blowing directly at children's bodies. (2) In terms of diet, mainly choose foods that are neutral or warm in nature. For example, the cereal diet is mainly composed of rice, corn, glutinous rice, and oats, while millet, buckwheat, mung beans, coix seeds and other cool foods should be eaten less or not. In the meat diet, you should often eat foods that are warm and neutral in nature, such as lamb, beef, pork, chicken, sea fish, shrimp, and eel, while foods that are cold and cool in nature, such as crabs, clams, snails, and duck meat, should be avoided as much as possible. Fruits with neutral or warm nature in the fruit diet include apples, grapes, peaches, lychees, oranges, pomegranates, walnut kernels, ginkgo nuts, dates, chestnuts, pine nuts, etc. These fruits can be eaten frequently. However, you should try not to eat some cold fruits such as watermelon, persimmon, grapefruit, banana, kiwi, and sugarcane. In the vegetable diet, you should eat more warm foods such as yam, carrot, cabbage, Chinese cabbage, green vegetables, potato, onion, leek, pumpkin, mushroom, toon, edamame, green beans, long beans, peppers, etc. Foods that are cold in nature include bitter melon, arrowhead, water chestnut, kelp, seaweed, water spinach, eggplant, lotus root, wild rice stem, loofah, and winter melon. You should try to eat less of these foods. If the child particularly wants to eat these cold foods, he must add chili, pepper, ginger and other warm foods together. In addition, you also need to be careful when drinking water. Children with asthma should drink boiled water but not bitter melon tea, kuding tea, green tea, chrysanthemum tea, mint tea, puffed lychnophora, cassia seed tea, etc. 2. Dietary methods to control asthma (1) When you have a cough or asthma, use 2 to 3 cloves of garlic, smash them and put them in a bowl. Cover the bowl and put it in a pot to steam. After boiling over high heat, simmer for 15 minutes. If the condition is serious, you can do this three times a day. You can also drink the water without eating the garlic. Add a piece of rock sugar when steaming it again the next day. Put 1 garlic clove for children and 2 garlic cloves for adults. Garlic is warm in nature and enters the spleen, stomach, and lung meridians. People often use garlic to treat coughs, bronchitis, asthma, and tuberculosis. However, it is not advisable to take too much garlic, otherwise it is easy to get angry and cause dizziness, so you should add rock sugar to play a role in moistening the lungs. This method can also treat bronchitis and tuberculosis in children. (2) Wash the pear, cut it in half along the stem, remove the core, add 15 peppercorns and 1 rock candy, align the top of the pear, put it in a bowl, and steam it for half an hour. Give the pear flesh to the child in two portions. For patients with severe conditions, give it three times a day. (3) If the child has severe asthma and a lot of white sputum, it means that the child has caught a severe cold.
