Why does my child urinate less and yellower?

Why does my child urinate less and yellower?

Many mothers will find that some babies urinate very little and the urine is yellow when taking care of their babies. Especially for some male babies, this situation is not only related to the baby's kidneys, but also to the baby's genitals. If the urine is less and the urine is yellow for a long time, the baby must be treated in time. So what is the matter with the child's less and the urine is yellow?

Hot weather, sweating a lot

The weather is hot now, and children tend to sweat easily when they move a little, especially on their heads, where they sweat a lot.

Babies do not have many open hairs on their body, and the heat dissipation is basically concentrated on the head. In addition, the autonomic nervous system is still immature, so they sweat easily and lose a lot of water.

In the past, when I didn’t sweat much, waste was filtered through the kidneys into the bladder and excreted from the body in the form of urine. Now that I sweat a lot, waste is also excreted from the body through the skin. With this diversion, urine naturally becomes less.

How much water does breast milk contain? Is breastfeeding enough?

When the weather is hot, children will not like to eat. We call it summer protection here. See if the child’s milk intake has decreased. If the milk intake is reduced and the water intake is insufficient, the child will have less urine and yellow urine.

If it is breastfeeding, the mother must drink more water. It is best for the breastfed baby not to drink water. The baby can only be replenished with water indirectly by the mother drinking more water. If this situation persists, you should also consider giving your baby water, otherwise it will cause burning and pain in urination, and the baby will be very uncomfortable.

If your baby is fed with milk powder, give him/her more water to replenish the water lost in the body.

The reasons why babies urinate less and have yellow urine may be physiological or pathological. Physiological factors may be due to hot weather and less drinking of water, which causes the urine to become concentrated, resulting in yellow urine and small amount of urine. The second is pathological reasons, such as hepatitis, liver disease, jaundice, increased blood bilirubin, and increased excretion of bilirubin in urine can also cause yellow urine and less urine. At the same time, if you take too much carrots, oranges, and B vitamins, it is easy to have yellow urine and less urine. If such symptoms persist, no matter what the reason is, you need to take your child to the hospital for examination.
