What is the best way to treat baby eczema?

In this age where most children are only children, the arrival of a new life can be said to carry the hopes and joy of too many people. At the same time, the arrival of a baby can also be said to be a sweet burden for mothers. Eczema is one of the most common minor illnesses in babies. Plus, their skin is so tender that it would be heartbreaking to see once eczema strikes. So what is the best way to treat baby eczema?

Don't let your baby get too hot. You can wash with honeysuckle water or apply comfrey oil, both have no side effects. If your baby’s eczema is not severe, you don’t need to use hormones. Just pay attention to moisturizing your baby. If the condition is serious, use hormonal drugs for two days. Note that the dosage of hormonal drugs should be gradually reduced. At the same time, use Chinese medicine to consolidate the effect. Otherwise, eczema will easily recur and become more serious. Udrol (a weak hormone drug), Geranium Ointment (a traditional Chinese medicine without hormones), Calamine Lotion (mainly used for drying out, suitable for eczema with bleeding), Bactroban (used to prevent skin infections when the skin is bleeding), Eninda (more expensive, used for baby eczema, without hormones), Avène Triple Repair Cream (mainly for moisturizing). These are all used by our baby and have a certain effect. However, our baby's eczema is too severe and keeps recurring. Now that the baby is older, his resistance is probably stronger and the eczema on his face has improved a lot. We are currently using the Fu Le Cream and Silicone Cream from the Institute of Child Health. One is pure Chinese medicine and the other is for skin care.

1. Overall treatment principles:

There are many types of medicines that can be used for baby eczema, and parents should use the medicines under the guidance of a doctor. Before changing to a new medication, be sure to remove the previous medication. When changing medications, it is best to apply it to a small area of eczema on the baby's skin first, observe the effect, and decide whether to use it. Avoid aggravating the condition due to improper use of medications.

The method of treating infant eczema depends on the symptoms of eczema, such as local erythema, papules, scales, and scabs. Do not use hormone-containing drugs and ointments. If there is a lot of ulcer exudate, you should use cold wet compress with solution, and then apply milk ringworm ointment after scab formation.

For babies whose eczema is not serious, only local medication is needed, but you should not abuse the medication on your own to avoid causing skin damage or infection.

2. Cold and wet compress:

(1) Commonly used 1:10000 potassium permanganate solution for wet compresses (be careful to make sure the potassium permanganate is completely dissolved, as undissolved potassium permanganate will burn the baby's skin). This not only cleans the wound surface, but also has a bactericidal, astringent and oxidative effect.

(2) Use 4-6 layers of gauze, making sure it does not drip water. Apply the wet gauze to the wound surface. The time and frequency of replacement should be determined based on the amount of exudate from the eczema. When the exudate absorbed by the gauze reaches half saturation, replace the gauze. Two to three times daily. When there is a lot of exudate, the wet compress should be changed more frequently...

Babies are not suitable for medication, so we must learn some good natural methods, preferably diet therapy, to keep babies away from unnecessary diseases. Let every child grow up healthily. I think this is the wish of every mother.
