Children's eye tissues and organs are not yet fully developed, and the permeability of their conjunctival mucosa is extremely strong, so they are naturally a high-risk group for allergic conjunctivitis. Can conjunctivitis cause fever in babies?

Simple conjunctivitis will not cause fever, but the disease causes conjunctival congestion, which may cause fever, but the fever is not caused by conjunctivitis. However, if it is contagious, it will cause fever, so we must find the cause and then treat it symptomatically. Baby, if it is caused by a single inflammatory infection, the baby should be careful not to rub the eyes for a long time, so as not to aggravate the baby's symptoms. It can be treated with eye drops or oral medications and observed. It must be treated in time, and attention should be paid to preventing colds during the treatment.

Prevention of conjunctivitis in children

Wash your eyes with saline solution in time, preferably several times a day. Then use eye drops. In addition, eye inflammation should be treated promptly to avoid delaying the development of chronic diseases; once the inflammation disappears, there is no need to use ointment for a long time to reduce the irritation of foreign objects to the eyes. Pediatric conjunctivitis is highly contagious. If you come into contact with objects contaminated by the patient's secretions or tears, such as handkerchiefs, face towels, face washbasins, pillowcases, etc., or even objects touched by the patient, and then rub your eyes, the infection will spread.
