How many hours does the baby sleep through the night?

Some babies can sleep through the night when they are just a few months old. Because such babies are healthy and have no symptoms of illness, and most importantly, the child should have eaten enough. Only when there are no problems can I sleep soundly and not let my parents worry. However, some parents are not aware of their children's sleeping problems, for example, some may sleep too little. How many hours does your baby sleep through the night?

In the first few months after birth, sleeping through the night means only 6 hours of continuous sleep for babies. By the age of one, most babies can sleep 10 to 12 hours a night.

It should be noted that:

When a baby is 5 months old, you should start preparing to wean him from night feeding. After a child is born, the body's biological clock has not formed a normal pattern, the digestive tract is not fully functioning, the stomach is small, and the child is in a stage of rapid growth. It requires more calories and therefore needs to be fed 24 hours a day. Therefore, if you are breastfeeding, it is generally recommended to breastfeed on demand and then gradually transition to regular breastfeeding. When you first wean your baby off from midnight feeding, you need to push the feeding in the first half of the night back as much as possible. It is best to feed the baby around 11 o'clock, and gradually push the feeding from 1 to 2 o'clock in the morning to 4 to 5 o'clock in the morning. This process takes several days, and you only need to push it back by about half an hour every day to gradually meet the requirements. When the child is able to breastfeed at 4 to 5 in the morning, gradually move the breastfeeding time from 11 o'clock at night to around 10 o'clock in the morning. This stopped the child from needing to feed at night. What needs to be reminded here is that if the child wakes up at night and does not want to sleep, he or she may also be fed a small amount of water. However, the whole process requires patience and determination from parents.

2 What is the sleeping pattern of the baby?

Babies sleep in cycles, each cycle lasts about 60 minutes. They will wake up automatically at the end of the cycle. If they are not hungry or need to urinate, they will automatically enter the next sleep cycle. At this time, do not disturb his sleep. During this period, most babies do not need to be fed at night and can sleep for a long time, sleeping continuously for more than 6 hours. Your child will wake up 3-4 times at night, and ask to be held or fed. If he cannot get what he wants, he will cry. We call this bad habit "sleeping-along condition". Once corrected, the child will sleep longer. Babies usually take two naps during the day; the morning and afternoon naps are usually 1 to 2 hours each. As his parent, you know best how much sleep your child needs every day; however, no matter how long he sleeps every day, if he sleeps more during the day, he will sleep less at night.
