Symptoms and treatment of skin rashes in children

Children are the apple of their parents’ eyes, and any problem of their children will be magnified or treated differently by their parents. I believe many people know that children are prone to some problems due to problems with their immune systems, such as rash, which is a disease that is very harmful to children's skin. So for the symptom of pediatric rash, what are the specific manifestations in daily life, and what methods can be used to achieve a good treatment effect?

1. Symptoms of skin rash in children

Children will have a fever in the early stage of the rash, which lasts for 3 to 4 days and the temperature is between 39 and 40 degrees. After the fever subsides, a rash quickly appears all over the body. No flaking and no pigmentation. However, the symptoms of a cold are not obvious, and my spirits and appetite are still good. The throat may be red and swollen, and the lymph nodes in the neck may be palpable.

Treatment of rashes in children

1. For general treatment, pay attention to rest, eat easily digestible food, and drink water. Strengthen the care of children, keep the skin clean and prevent secondary bacterial infection. Clothes, bedding, towels, and dressings that have come into contact with herpes should be disinfected immediately and not shared with healthy people. Herpetic genital warts should be kept clean and treated with a 1:1000 benzalkonium bromide solution. Patients with genital herpes should avoid sexual intercourse during treatment.

2. For symptomatic treatment of itchy skin without cracks, calamine lotion can be used to wipe it, and antibiotic ointment can be applied after the herpes breaks. When herpes zoster is obviously painful, analgesics such as indomethacin should be given, and vitamin B1 and B12 should be taken orally or injected intramuscularly. For secondary infection, topical 0.5% neomycin cream or mupirocin ointment can be used.

3. Antiviral treatment Currently, nucleoside drugs are considered to be the most effective anti-HSV drugs. Acyclovir, valacyclovir, or famciclovir can be taken orally. Acyclovir ointment and penciclovir cream can be applied topically to skin lesions.

3. Symptoms of common rashes in children

1. Roseola infantum: The rash usually appears after the fever subsides. The rash appears 3-5 days after the high fever and begins to subside on the 2-3rd day. There are no symptoms when the rash occurs.

2. Measles: The rash appears 3-4 days after the fever. The fever is at its peak when the rash appears. Compared with roseola infantum, the child is in poor spirits and feels uncomfortable at this time.

3. Rubella: The fever starts half a day to one day before the rash begins to appear. The systemic symptoms are relatively mild and may be accompanied by swollen lymph nodes. It is also an infectious disease.

4. Scarlet fever: fever and rash will appear 1-2 days later, with high fever, severe poisoning symptoms, pharyngitis, and typical bayberry tongue.

5. Drug rash: The rash is itchy, mostly in pressure areas and wrinkles, and there is a history of medication.

6. Infant eczema: It is more common in young infants. Pay attention to keep the local area dry and cool and pay attention to hygiene.
