Children's platelet count is high

Blood contains many components, the three most important ones are red blood cells, plasma and platelets. The platelet count can reflect the health of the blood. If a child's platelet count is high, with a count above 500, the condition is more serious. Platelets control the cell nuclei in the bone marrow. If the number is too high, it will have a great impact on the child's physical health. You can choose to go to the hospital for treatment, or you can take some medication to control it. Let's learn about it together below.

Platelets are small pieces of cytoplasm that detach from the cytoplasm of mature megakaryocytes in the bone marrow. Although megakaryocytes are the smallest in number among the hematopoietic cells in the bone marrow, accounting for only 0.05% of the total number of bone marrow nucleated cells, the platelets they produce are extremely important for the body's hemostatic function. When blood is lost due to vascular trauma, the functional activities of platelets in the physiological hemostasis process can be roughly divided into two stages: the first stage is mainly after the trauma occurs, platelets quickly adhere to the trauma site, aggregate into clusters, and form a relatively soft hemostatic plug; the second stage is mainly to promote blood coagulation and form a solid hemostatic plug.

This condition in children is mostly caused by inflammation or anemia in the body. If the situation is more serious, it may also be caused by blood disease. Therefore, the child should be given a systematic examination in time, and then targeted treatment should be given to the child based on the examination results and the specific cause of the disease. This will be more conducive to the child's recovery and enable the child to recover faster.

High platelet count is mostly caused by inflammation in the body. There may be a problem somewhere in the child's body. It should be checked and confirmed in time, and then the child should be given systematic treatment to avoid worsening of the disease and causing irreversible consequences to the child's body. Therefore, it is very important to go to the hospital for treatment as soon as possible, and you must choose a regular and large hospital for your child.
