Generally speaking, for children with respiratory tract infections, we should provide timely treatment, take medicine according to the doctor's advice and pay attention to respiratory hygiene.

Repeated infections in infants and preschool children who mainly suffer from respiratory tract infections are mostly related to improper care, the initial stage of admission to childcare institutions, lack of exercise, migration of residence, passive inhalation of smoke, environmental pollution, lack of trace elements or unreasonable combination of other nutrients; some are related to chronic lesions in the nasopharynx, such as rhinitis, sinusitis, enlarged tonsils, enlarged adenoids, chronic tonsillitis, etc.

Abbreviated as influenza, the disease has an acute onset, is contagious, and has changeable symptoms, mainly systemic poisoning symptoms, with milder respiratory symptoms. Leukocytopenia and relative increase in lymphocytes. If secondary bacterial infection occurs, there may be yellow purulent sputum, rusty sputum, bloody sputum, chest pain, and an increase in the total white blood cell count and neutrophil count. The course of the disease is 3-5 days.

The disease is more common in winter and spring; it is mainly characterized by pharyngeal inflammation, with symptoms such as pharyngeal discomfort, itching, burning sensation, and sore throat, which may be accompanied by fever, fatigue, etc.; during examination, there is obvious congestion and edema of the pharynx, and enlarged and tender submandibular lymph nodes; the white blood cell count in routine blood tests may be normal or decreased, and the proportion of lymphocytes is increased; the viruses isolated are mostly adenovirus, parainfluenza virus, and respiratory syncytial virus.
