Everyone knows that newborns are very sleepy, because children secrete hormones that are beneficial to the development of various body functions when they sleep. However, the sleep time of newborns is also based on scientific evidence, and it does not mean that the more a baby sleeps, the better. Today, the editor would like to recommend to parents the amount of sleep a newborn needs at each stage. Parents can refer to these times to take care of their children's sleep and help them grow up healthily. So how long does a 20-day-old newborn sleep a day? There are six states for babies: deep sleep, light sleep, drowsiness, wakefulness, and irritability and crying. Newborns sleep for 16 to 20 hours at first after leaving their mothers' bodies and coming into this world. They sleep for about 1 to 4 hours each time and wake up for 1 to 2 hours. But some babies sleep for more than 6 hours at a time. Their daytime sleep time and nighttime sleep time are the same. Due to the secretion characteristics of endocrine hormones such as growth hormone in the body, nighttime sleep is more conducive to growth and development. Of course, parents need to help them establish this pattern. Generally speaking, babies under one month old need about 18 to 20 hours of sleep a day and night, and they are only awake for about 3 to 4 hours a day, which can be said to be "sleep when they are full." By the 2nd to 3rd month, you need to sleep 16 to 18 hours a day. However, babies aged 5 to 9 months still need to sleep for 18 to 20 hours a day, and are awake for only 3 to 4 hours a day, which can be described as "sleeping when full." By the 2nd to 3rd month, you need to sleep 16 to 18 hours a day. When babies are 5 to 9 months old, they still need to sleep for 15 to 16 hours. By the time a baby is one year old, he or she needs about 14 to 15 hours of sleep. But there are individual differences. As the baby grows older and his nervous system matures, his sleep time gradually decreases. By the age of 2 to 3, his sleep time is 12 to 13 hours. The sleep time of children aged 4 to 5 is reduced to 11 to 12 hours, gradually approaching that of adults. |
