What is the reason for daydreaming in class?

The reason why some children have excellent academic performance is not because they are so serious after class. Some of these children have never attended cram schools and basically play when they go home. It is because the quality of these children's listening in class is very high. Because most of the time, the knowledge points are taught by the teacher in class. If you remember them well, you will have no problem answering any questions. So, what is the reason for daydreaming in class?

1. Classroom “Critical Period”

Symptoms: Generally speaking, there are three "critical periods" in a class when it is easy to be distracted: the first is at the beginning of the class. Students are often in an excited or unstable state mentally and emotionally because of recess activities or meals; secondly, when a class is about halfway through. Relevant experiments have shown that students' attention span can last about 20 minutes. Afterwards, the students' nerves are in a state of relative inhibition and they have difficulty concentrating. Third, in the last few minutes before the end of get out of class, students' attention is scattered and they are mentally exhausted.

2. Worrying and under great pressure

Symptoms: It is difficult to concentrate in class. The harder you force yourself not to be distracted, the more your attention wanders. In severe cases, you may even become anxious and restless, lose interest in studying, and your grades will either decline or stagnate, making it even more difficult to concentrate. It often happens to some excellent students. Due to the high expectations of their families, the students are worried and under great pressure. The direct consequence is that they are physically and mentally exhausted and their thoughts are confused. Therefore, it is inevitable that they will be distracted in class.

3. Difficulty in learning and not understanding

Symptoms: Students have poor basic knowledge and cannot understand what is being taught in class without being distracted.

Solution:

First of all, we must enhance the purpose of attending classes. First, make a silent resolution in your heart before class: I must digest the content of this class in class. Are you mentally prepared for this? Your mental state and learning results during class will be very different. An experiment has shown that students with this kind of psychological preparation can digest almost 80%-100% of the content contained in class, while students without this kind of psychological preparation can only digest about 40% of the content contained in class. The second is to attend class with questions. Prepare for the course in which you tend to be distracted. After previewing, you can organize your intellectual activities purposefully with questions in mind. For example, if you don’t understand some questions during the preview, you should pay extra attention to them; some questions are not in the book but are supplemented by the teacher. You should listen carefully and then write them down briefly in your notebook. This way, you won’t be distracted easily when listening to the class with a purpose.
