One year old child has blue spots on forehead

Newborn babies will have blue marks on their bodies, but for some babies, the blue marks will gradually disappear as they grow older, so there is no need to worry too much. Although children nowadays are loved by the whole family, who are afraid that any problem will affect the child's normal development, if the child is sick, they can go to the hospital to consult a doctor and raise the child scientifically with the doctor's help.

Nowadays, every child is the treasure of the family, and every parent is most concerned about their child’s physical health. Recently, many parents have reported that their children have marks of blue spots on their bodies. Many parents do not understand what is going on and are very worried. So today, we will introduce to you what is going on when blue spots appear on babies' bodies. Let’s take a look together below.

This is a congenital Mongolian spot, which is more common among the yellow race. It is the most common birthmark in newborns and is congenital, with an incidence rate of about 86.3%.

Parents of newborns may find some light gray-green or dark-green spots on their baby's waist, cheeks and back. Most of them are symmetrical on both sides and mostly odd in number. They are mostly round, oval or square in shape, but the boundaries are not very obvious.

The cause of this condition is not very clear at present, but parents can rest assured that although the probability of its occurrence is quite high, most of the spots will fade away naturally as the baby grows older.

Therefore, if it disappears naturally during childhood, it is considered a good skin change, but so far there have been no reports of malignant changes.

It is worth mentioning that this type of spots are mostly congenital and therefore cannot be prevented in advance. However, since it will fade away naturally, there is no need to prevent it, and parents of newborns do not need to worry too much.

Generally, when babies are born, they have bluish-gray spots on their sacrum, buttocks, hands, feet, calves, etc., which are of different shapes and sizes, do not protrude from the skin, and do not cause any discomfort. This is the result of the accumulation of subcutaneous pigment cells, called fetal spots, which do not require treatment and will disappear on their own at the age of 5-6 years old. But if your baby has such marks on his back after being carried, you may need to go to the hospital for a check-up, as this can sometimes occur due to thrombocytopenia. If the baby's condition is present at birth, it may be a congenital hemangioma. If it is just discovered, we need to consider whether it is a collision injury or a blood system disease, and wait for thrombocytopenic purpura to be ruled out. In this case, I suggest taking your child to the pediatric department of the hospital for peace of mind, especially for routine blood tests and coagulation function tests. If they are all normal, you can also consult a dermatologist.
