Inflammation of the left upper lobe of the lung in children

Inflammation of the left upper lobe of the lung in children

It is relatively common for children to get pneumonia, which often leads to inflammation of the upper lobe of the left lung. Once a child has pneumonia, he should seek medical attention promptly and use antibiotics for treatment. In addition, he must pay attention to keeping warm in daily life, supplement nutrition in time, give the child some water in time, and keep the respiratory tract open. Let us learn about this aspect.

What to do if your baby has pneumonia

When your baby develops pneumonia, you must seek medical attention promptly. If the conditions are not met for timely medical attention, you must take appropriate physical measures for treatment.

1. Keep warm: Keep the skin temperature at around 36.5°C. The body temperature of premature infants should not rise. The room temperature in the incubator should be kept at around 20°C and the relative humidity should be 55-65%. Prevent respiratory secretions from drying out, avoid coughing, and prevent cross infection.

2. Pay attention to nutrition and water supply: Mildly ill patients should be fed in small amounts and should not be overfed to prevent vomiting and aspiration. Severely ill infants should be breastfed whenever possible. If artificially fed, the amount and concentration of milk can be determined according to its digestive function and condition. If diarrhea is present, give skim milk. It is recommended to provide infants and children with a light, easily digestible, multivitamin-rich diet, and to provide sick children with nutritious, high-calorie foods during the recovery period. For critically ill children who are unable to eat, they need intravenous supplementation of amino acid fluids and internal fat and water, and the amount of fluid replacement should be 60-80 ml/kg per day.

3. Keep the airway open: Clear the nose, nasal secretions and respiratory sputum to improve ventilation function, increase alveolar ventilation, and reduce carbon dioxide retention. Turn over and perform postural drainage or back defecation several times to facilitate sputum discharge. You can also take oral medications to promote the discharge of sputum. If the sputum is thick and difficult to cough up, you can suck it or use ultrasonic nebulization inhalation to promote its discharge.

How to treat baby pneumonia

Baby's pneumonia can be treated and prevented, so it is very necessary to master the necessary treatment measures and prevention methods. So how to treat and prevent baby pneumonia?

1. General treatment

Keep the air circulating in the ward, maintain the room temperature at 20℃ and the humidity at 60%, provide easily digestible food, turn the patient over frequently, and shoot the back.

2. Antibiotics

Antibiotics were used based on the clinical and laboratory data of the likely pathogens. Use antibiotics to which the pathogen is sensitive.

3. Severity of the disease

In cases of mycoplasma pneumonia, macrolides may be used, and antiviral drugs may be used for treatment.

4. Symptomatic treatment

If oxygen performance is lacking, oxygen can be supplied. If the sputum is thick, nebulizer can be used for cough treatment.

To prevent upper respiratory tract infections, pay attention to increasing exercise and choose appropriate exercise methods according to age. When doing outdoor activities, be careful to add clothes correctly. Avoid taking your children to public places when a respiratory virus is prevalent.
